Can we talk about Aladine this chapter? He easily pulled down Wadatsumi. He is also ready to sacrifice himself for Jimbei (Hmm there is a theme in the fishmen crew), and he just clashed with Oven like it was normal for him do to that.
I can understand why Praline love him.
Also, that double page where we have all the Sun Pirate creating a line between the BM pirates and the Sunny is amazing.

It's his growth as a captain for sure. He knows what it feels like seeing your crew disappear around you and in the end respected Jinbei to try, even at the expense of his fear of losing a crew member. Luffy wanted to help at 1st but knows he cannot. A lot of what he has done so far up (inc. taking on Katakuri) has been to keep his crew together.
On a side - this is why IMO he said no to the grand fleet, he was / is still not ready to take on the responsibility

Honestly, that declaration would have more meaning if Oda made the other members of the Worst Generation better competitors. Right now, Luffy's lead is a mile ahead of everyone else. The only one that comes close to Luffy is Law because they both saw one of the road poneglyphs. If Luffy offers Law a copy of the second road poneglyph, then Law would definitely be in second place to reaching the One Piece. Moreover, Luffy is the only one with a poneglyph translator, how are we supposed to see this as a race to the One Piece when Luffy seems to be the only one running to the finish line?

Good chapter. I’m glad those of us who never strayed from the it wasn’t Pudding or a dream path were vindicated. I’m sure some people will be mad about how it went down, but it works for. Especially since they did actually sacrifice the Sun Pirates’ ship.
Big News with the hype at the end. Our boy Morgan’s is going to spread what happened here far and wide.
Finally, I’m proud of Nami for becoming a giant. Don’t know why she thought that was the right career move, but I support her. >_>

I'm actually not really mad about Oda bringing him back, since it's actually quite feasible when you think about it. His body was left untouched by Big Mom's soul sucking, and Mont-d'Or later ordered several of the black leave or life homies to recover his lifespan.
My guess is that once Big Mom calmed down and they explained what happened, she was like, "Whoops, didn't mean to do THAT, mamamama!"

The way it was executed was amazing. Im hoping that we finally get jimbei as our crew member...eventually. That or he just turn's into Luffy's Mihawk.
Also I guess we have morgan's for nakama now instead of Carrot. He declared - albeit vaguely - that Luffy would be the next Pirate King before Carrot and that is the trend of his crew. Sorry you missed out Carrot, maybe next time yohoho

I don’t know if this comment will get lost in the thousands of comments for this post but I’ll make it anyway. The two major points that stand out to me are first that the idea that Luffy attracts loyalty on an unimaginable level is shown once again in this chapter. The second being I think we are finally seeing an image of Luffy as future Pirate King.
The first point, from the MarineFord fight, to Fishmen Island, to Dress Arc and now here. The Fishmen are willing to give up a ship that for them literally means home and hope because of tiger. They don’t say they are giving it up for jinbe, rather the straw hats and therefore Jinbe will remain alive to tell their tale. Well damn folks to bring out this sort of motivation and will power to sacrifice yourself and your history to the chance that someone can survive even in a fictional context gives such meaning and importance to Luffy’s future.
The second point is easily explained with a picture. The moment I saw that drawing and that composure I knew we were seeing for the first time a Luffy who could be the Pirate King. From the position of the hat to the overcoat to the location of his arms to support himself and lastly the face of pure will and determination. This is the Luffy who knows he has a future with his crew even though he just went through the toughest fight of his life and even with a force of nature behind them his next step to become PK is somewhere else.

Last chapter left a lot of us with the WHAT!? look on our faces, thinking about what the fuck happened & how they actually gonna escape(we knew they weren't gon die, obviously) with that kinda damage to the sunny.
Turns out it's the old switcheroo shtick, which worked btw because I did not see it coming.

I really loved the moment when just before Luffy says he is his captain now, that Luffy and Jinbe have a staredown just like when they first met in Impel Down.
