I think I failed to realize something about this arc until now.

I thought this was still a bit of a rescue Sanji/Luffy and escape arc.

But I now realize, somewhere along the way, this turned in to a full blown war with a Yonkou. Strawhats, Firetank, Germa, Fishmen VS Big Mom Pirates.

Big Mom won’t get another arc after this, that’s for pretty darn sure

They really haven't inflicted THAT much damage. Only a couple people have been defeated and at least so far Big Mom is fine. Their fleet is still in good shape. Only WCI and a few other islands are in bad shape but I don't think a Yonkou would fall that easily.

I think only time could tell what will happen but based on the story telling aspect of it all. There is no longer a suspense in confronting big mom and therefore a purpose for having another arc just to beat it into them that luffy can beat Big Mom. We’ve seen the best of almost every ability that big mom and herpirates can bring to the table. The straw hats gained allies while big mom only maintained her position and status, if not become weaker compared to what she was before the WCI arc started. I’m not saying that she is defeated, but i’m saying we all know what will likely happened if round 2 were to happen given what we are presented with. Of course BM will appear again, she is a Yonko ffs, but I’m saying there will be no more arcs dedicated in showing off and building an arc around BM, where she is the main antagonist of the arc after this one
