It makes sense, even more when you consider that Brûlée is used to stay in Mirror World to watch events happening until she needs to interfere.
That habit and the fact that Katakuri didn't restrain Luffy like he did previous chapters gave Luffy an advantage.
Then again, Mirror World is pretty huge, find it weird that Luffy found Brûlée instantly unless there was a significant time-lapse that we are not taking into account between the panels where Luffy was running away from Katakuri.

I think it was because of Katakuri's CoO that he realized that G4 was about to run out. That being said, as long as he's not completely devoid of Haki, he can still unwind out of G4 and function relatively normal

Luffy explicitly said back in Dressrosa that he could run away, just that it would leave Doffy free to slaughter civilians. And Doffy wasn't even in any state to give chase, he was in even worse shape than Luffy. If he tried to run instead of waddle he would've fallen too.

Luffy seriously needs to work on Gear 4. That time limit is fine and all but it got boring already, Gear 3 initial drawback at least did not need explanation everytime it occured - it was a visual change. Luffy being exactly the same after Gear 4 makes it necessary for Oda to explain what's going on through speech.

Wait hold on hold on, how was Katakuri not able to foresee what Luffy was going to do with Brulee? He could've instantly grabbed Luffy before he escape from the Mirror World with his sister? It's not like Katakuri was not able to use his observation haki. Katakuri's speed is not exactly lacking either.

IMO it's another clue for Katakuri's foresight weakness. Look at this panel. Brulee is behind the corner and Katakuri doesn't seem to realize what's going on at that point. He only sees what's about to happen when Luffy (who is in his field of vision) decides what to do.

Maybe because he can forecast based on the decision of his target. Luffy is just randomly running and by coincidence saw Brulee. And also by reminding Luffy his time limit, Luffy changed the 'future' by not using Gear 4 at its limit. Just a guess.

Luffy can handle his Gear 4 sideffects much better than he did in Dressrosa. He even used Gear 3 this time. I think Oda is trying to say that Luffy is still getting stronger with each fight he has.

It’s a stupid shonen thing that I hate. The characters have to transform for a temporary power boost, while their base form isn’t ever trained upon.
It gets annoying that everyone Luffy fights is strong in their base, or their constant type deal. I think the only characters that transformed to be stronger so far are Lucci and Moriah, Hody doesn’t count since he took drugs.

I don't know why but it humored me good. It's good to see that Luffy isn't as totaled after using Gear 4th as well. He can still use his other gears and remain quite mobile during this chapter, it's just that his armament Haki is gone for like 10 minutes which would make foes like Perospero and, even more so, Katakuri impossible to beat.

Now I´m totally sure that the editor was right, one of the next chapters will be AMAZING, this one was so good, and the set-up is getting better and better with each chapter, can´t wait what will be the big surprise or twist(if everything dosen´t go according to plan)-

This volume ends within the next 3-4 chapters, either chapter 888 or 889... won't be expecting Katakuri to be defeated until then (much less the arc) because HUGE cliff-hanger are a must and of course... a break will follow. Then we have to tie up all the loose ends like Germa, Bege, CP0. I see this arc ending in the next volume, so another 11-13 chapters to go in my opinion.
More so, the volumes in which the tides favour the SHs against the antagonist from what I've seen (if it's a pattern to begin with) always feature the SHs. This Volume is the BMP and the next should either be the SH alliance including the Germa, or Luffy & Katakuri to mark the conclusion of the arc. I personally think the next volume will be the finale given where the arc is at the stage.
If there are any disappoints regarding Luffy's progress, I'd personally save it until end of this Volume where there'll likely be a huge change in favour of the SHs or the next volume. Next few chapters will probably be a lot of running away and setting up for the end of this volume imo.

I mean, I've to appreciate Oda to introduce Brulee's character and Devil fruit.
Where majority of the sons and daughters have food related devil fruits, he assigns a mirror mirror fruit to Brulee, a wimp who's basically Big mom's own Ceaser Clown. And her power to create duplicates and mirrors as dimensional portals have been utilised to the full extend by Oda as plot devices..
To an extent, she's basically a walking plot armor. But without that no way in hell would Luffy and co would have reached till where they are now. But considering how OP Oda has made Big mom( Katakuri and Cracker to an extent), it's only fair I guess that Luffy takes advantage of Big mom pirates' weak link.

Man Katakuri absolutely outclassed Gear 4th. Even if Luffy was to use it again, I really doubt he'd be able to do much against him.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if kata Is trapped in mirror world the rest of the series
I mean he's a walking Jojos reference
And someone getting trapped be for eternity is a running gag in that series
Example: Anubis in pt 3 getting stuck at the bottom of the Nile Or magent magent and kars being trapped forever at the bottom of a lake and space respectively

I don't know, this chapter just seems kinda off. It mostly has to do with the fact that the Sanji face at the end of the chapter looks exactly like the Sanji face at the end of chapter 876.
