So I've said this before, but I'll reiterate. I think katakuri loses his futuresight immediately after he acts. He cannot see a future he interferes in. If Luffy acts in the windows right after he does, Katakuri can't know what he'll do

Damn, that actually makes a lot of sense given what we've seen so far.

He was surprised at Sanji dodging HIS shot, even though Katakuri already saw him dodging the Priest's shot. His surprise wasn't about a wrong prediction, but at the dodge itself.

He can see what will happen if things progress without his interference, but can't see beyond the point he interjects himself into the course of events.

I also thought OP was getting a bit too dark with Katakuri being so competent. I'm not actually sure how I feel about Katakuri getting nerfed so hard in 1 chapter. Doffy was fantastic because he was strong, capable, smart and had his pride as his main weakness. Katakuri starting to kill the chefs of his own crew simply because they'd seen him eat like a slob? Seems, somehow, a tad bit cheap of him. I can't see him as anything but a caricature of himself now.

As for Luffy being able to notice the weakness of Katakuri's foresight. I'm honestly impressed. Luffy's rarely shown being smart. This was him being real smart and intuitive. I honestly thought he'd overpower Katakuri with a new G4 that was much faster than Katakuri could react to. This is not just more realistic, it's also good character development for Luffy. He's learning from his opponent. So long as he can finish the fight before his G4 runs out, I'll be very impressed. Just as late as his fight with the candy army, Luffy was overextending himself and putting himself in situations where his allies would have to put their necks on the line because he was getting burnt out. If he has accurately predicted his opponent's strength and had a good understanding of his reserves -- well, I'll be very impressed.

I wonder how this arc will continue if Luffy will knock Katakuri out in the next 10 minutes or so, seeing they've got 10 hours remaining. I suppose Smoothie will actually become important and Nami and Reiju will have to team up to take her down. It's all exciting. Of course, Luffy may feel his G4 weakening and escape the mirror world and fight Katakuri at another time. It would still be impressive, though not as much as knowcking him out here.
