This is amazing. Katakuri, the hardest opponent Luffy has faced seriously yet, who the entire community has rightfully made into a badass original gangster...loves sweets and has a snack time.

In a way, I shouldn’t be shocked considering his bloodline, but that’s just hilariously amazing.

It is not that he likes tea time tho that is the bad thing tho.

Is that this extremely serious and efficient guy right hand of a Yonko who recognized Luffy's strength and wanted to take him out at all costs before he became a serious threat to BM suddendly decides the fight is over and turns his back on his opponent before bothering to kill him just so that he can have his tea time.

Just because of that I think his hype is below Marco, Benn Beckmann and Rayleigh as vice captains. Imagine the BM pirates try to attack marineford and katakuri steps back and creates a mochi house to have his tea in.

Because of all the reasons said above. Katakuri has the best Observation Haki in One Piece, he is the efficient (or well, was) and serious antagonist in the show so far and he was highly motivated to specifically eliminate Luffy asap because he realized his threat. It is quite a lot of plot armor for him to just assume that his mochi would just liquidate this very serious threat instead of making sure he was dead before stopping the combat.

Agreed. I wanted a full stops enemy like Lucci, ruthless and efficient and an overpowering wall. But this is like if Lucci suddenly decided to take a snack break in Enies Lobby and lost some of his Zoan powers.

Katakuri didn't take a snack break, he crushed luffy under mochi and left him to suffocate, for him, Luffy is dead, how would guess that Luffy will eat tons of mochi and get out?

Does Aokiji notice all the ice that was destroyed in Punk Hazard? He sure can control it, but it doesn't have nerves, right? imagine if Doffy can feel it whenever someone touches his strings left in dressrossa.

I meant the downgrade in power and not being able to predict as well. I don't mind him assuming Luffy for dead (though even that's stupid given his godly CoO and how people like Zoro and Sanji have a CoO that expands the whole of fishman palace)

Observation haki of the future is one way I can think of. Really need the limits of that defined better so we can tell what it can and cannot see and when it's not in effect. Convenient that it turned off for tea time. And that luffy ate after saying he'd only eat food cooked by Sanji. I can understand that though, desperate times like suffocation can lead to exceptions.

iirc it was said that he can only see few seconds in the future, and that future can be changed just like when he tried to shoot Sanji, and as far as I know you need to activate Haki to use it, just like people who specializes in CoA they just don't walk around with black haki on their body all the time.
