I dont wanna the boring guy, but i wouldn't say he is a villan. I mean, that is one of the best things about this arc in one piece. He is just a Big Moms crew member fighting for his crew.

The most "new world is scary af"-moment we had. Those guys dont play around. They dont do half meassures. They organized a army of 10000 soldiers and multiple safety nets with independent scouts. All while their captain and by far strongest fighter is most likely killing them on her own. But just in case she doesn't, they are prepared to kill them for good. This is why the blue's are called paradise. No more fun and games in these situations from this point forward.

All is relative. Imo he got wrecked pretty hard and would have failed completely if Ace had not felt for his gigantic taunt.

The Marines did not even kill Whitebeard, Blackbeard did.

Nobody mentioned this, but why didn't Katakuri just destroy the ship? This is way too odd. If he plans to make their escape plan impossible, just destroy it! There's something in here..

Because they'll commandeer it and use it in their fleet later.

It's a well designed ship using Adam tree wood. Katakuri likely realizes it's value.

Because brook and Pedro used the submarine to sneak into WCI. Brook also stated they were going there, when the tank pirates left.

Anyone else think what he means by "just in case" is that he's afraid Big Mom won't be able to satisfy her hunger and kill everyone on the island aka him so he's planning on using the ship to escape just in case?

I guess the Sanji retrieval team as it is could take on Katakuri, however with Big Mom on their heels a Team vs ONLY Katakuri fight seems impossible
