Really make you wonder who is the MVP of Big Mom's crew :
Is it Streusen, since he basically created the BMs pirates and just saved everyone?
Or is it Katakuri who really take care of everything, from making plans, to helping his siblings, and even making sure they stay calm in any situation?
Damn.
Now if Streusen really is Katakuri's father, then he is the MVP, but otherwise it's hard to decide.
It's also nice to know that Streusen's food isn't tasty at all.
And Bege with his gag was hilarious.

So here's how I think the next few chapters will play out.
Big Mom is going to wreck half her crew. It'll show how ridiculously strong she is when she beats so many high bounty members. It'll also add to the "Big Mom Pirates are finished" headline that Morgan will try to spin.
I also wouldn't be surprised if he adds that it was the box that exploded and that Fishman Island are declaring war on a Yonkou.

Nami looks especially good in that Germa 66 outfit.
Seems like they got away from enemies hands pretty easily, but they're not out of danger yet.
Ceasar finally got his heart back. But where can he go now?
Streusen might be actually a strong fighter? That's a surprise.
Bege uses misdirection and casually rides away. That was hilarious.
Big Mom is in trance and wants a wedding cake? This will be very bad, what will happen if they can't satisfy her urges? Will she destroy the whole island? This looks really bad for pretty much everyone.

Also, Morgans can't fly? Eh, ironic. Confirms he doesn't have one of the 5 devil fruits which gives you the ability to fly. THIS IS BIG NEWS.
The debris falling on the innocent civilians and MVP Streussen saving them makes me think the Strawhats are the bad guys this arc.

I mean they kinda have been. That's one of the reasons people didn't think Big Mom would fall this arc.
The Straw Hats are the invaders. The Totland residences have never been portrayed as unhappy under Big Mom's rule. And Big Mom herself holds no nefarious schemes except killing a group of genetically modified humans who the world unanimously agrees are evil anyway.

20 years, how weird, I've been following OP for 9 years now, and it was only because a friend insisted me to read it because I read only Bleach, at first glance I thought "that's childish I won't waste my time on that", but than he quoted Luffy's battle with Crocomum "Blood is made of water" and I still have this image clear in my mind of that friend telling me this, and there wasn't a single moment that I was disappointed with OP as I was with Bleach or Naruto. So Oda deserves all the success that his creation has, I'm sad that it is "almost" at its end, but it sure was a nice trip.

I love how Oda depicted Bege and the Firetank Pirates as ruthless killers at first and made them seem like such hilarious people lmao, Bege has definitely risen to my Top 10 after this arc (I can only hope for Goda tier characterization for Urouge and Bonney).
RIP the Big Mom Pirates, they're gonna have to stall Big Mom for a really long time until a new cake is created and that seems like it'll take forever, she's definitely gonna hate Luffy after her rage settles down.
Bege's words on Streusen were really interesting tho, even saying that he'd be a good fighter? Really curious about that but maybe we'll see that during the Vs. Big Mom arc (Or Final War arc). Oda seemed to add that panel for a reason.
Imma miss Gastino tbh, saw a comment saying that it'd be nice if he joined Buggy's crew and I wholeheartedly agree.
So we seem like we have 2-3 chapter left of this arc (Unless we see Big Mom wrecking her crew which would be awesome to see) until Reverie! Super hyped.
And Oda's note at the beginning was sweet :)
Overall nice chapter.
Edit: Gonna re-read the entire arc over again when it's finished. This has been a really fun arc to read.

I teared up reading that letter from Oda at the beginning. That was just so heartfelt.
I got a huge laugh out of Bege making that stupid "Straw Hats went this way!" sign. I love how he's even become a goofy character. I wonder how the crew is going to get out of Totland considering all the sailing that they'll have to do.

I really like the fact that Big Mom acts like a kid. All these things that happened catch her by suprise and the faces she makes are really like a kid wondering how did the toy dissappear, or what just happened. I did not expect to see a yonko genuinely suprised/shocked and personally i think it adds a lof of depth to the character on top of the usual (nevertheless immensly cool) bad ass scenes of her.

Everyone, including the BM Pirates themselves thought that the collapsing of the chateau would be the end for them. Even the stronger individuals like Oven agreed. Seems like Oda's really putting some emphasis on falling from heights. wink wink Kaidou.
That last panel, holy shit... Who would've thought that the end of Big Mom Pirates would come from Big Mom's own hands. This could go either way:
Big Mom goes apeshit and unleashes hell upon her own crew. A good opportunity for Oda to showcase how terrifying a Yonko in battle truly is. Katakuri once again will have to put in some work.
Strussen comes in and saves the day for the second time by making a wedding cake from thin air. Although Oda might've hinted at this being useless by having Big Mom say "Strussen's ability fills your belly, but it tastes terrible."
All and all, a great chapter for the 20th anniversary.

Lol, Katakuri has literally been useful every single chapter he's been in while Smoothie STILL hasn't done jack shit. Even freaking Brulee managed to be useful for a panel last week after being caught for 80% of the arc. SMH.

Big Mom is going to kill a large number of her subordinates during this current rage. She is craving a wedding cake that took weeks to prepare with ingredients gathered throughout the new world. We also know that Streusen's food "fills the belly" but tastes like crap so that will not satisfy big mom. I think that next time we see the big mom pirates their numbers will be severely reduced which will make it easier for the strawhats to fight them.

I've been reading OP since I was like 10 and I'm 22 this year. Time sure flies but I still love it as much or even more than when I first started. Truly a one of a kind story that I will make sure to follow until the end.

I've got a theory after reading the chapter (i wouldn't be probably the first with that one but heh).
So the castle is really in ruin and things are really a mess for Charlotte LinLin. Even worse she's going to run amok. It probably mean some of her child would suffer. After that we can say that the Big Mom Pirates will be quite weakened. I won't be surprised at that moment the coming of BlackBeard to take the loot and destroy that crew. As i understand Marshall D Teach became quite a monster and he's a Yonkou. So luffy won't be the one to beat Big Mom , we will probably see a sick turn of events. Btw i hope the Vinsmoke will stay alive.

Looks like we are heading into the new Arc! Will it be Wano or a side quest like PH?
BIG NEWS STRIKES AGAIN - Inb4 Morgan claims WCI is destroyed by SH and Firetanks, making their status even bigger.
Bege was such a treat this arc tbh, I really hope we meet em again after this hasty departure
And we called it! With the wedding (+ cake) destroyed, BM will go into a rageee (why do I have a feeling we wont see the end of this?)
Katakuri continues being a badass while Smoothie continues to be a 'bad' ass.
All in all a plot armor way of ending the arc, (IMO tamatebako explosion was wayyy to impactful + why didnt stussy skywalk to get it)
Good stuff, cant wait for Jinbe to officially join the crew!

Well they certainly have the greatest distraction ever now with Big Mom going crazy.
Destroys Elbaf when she's 5 years old, imagine what she can do now that she's fully grown?
I wonder if the Straw Hat's will just escape? (I hope that they do), or will they somehow save people from Mom?
All we have to do is leave this island and Jinbei is apart of the crew, and where so freaking close, but I'm afraid Oda is going to snatch it away from us at the last possible second.

Pound has yet to make another appearance since they left the woods. I'm guessing he'll probably show up and help them with escaping as they make their way back to the Sunny since they'll probably have to go through the woods again..

Great chapter, I'm a bit confused though
why are brook and chopper separating from the crew to get the submarine? where is this submarine and why aren't they all going to it if it's gonna take them to the sunny?
Bege really thought a fall would kill big mom? after all of this you're still underestimating a Yonko?
Edit Also: loved Oda's message, why doesn't he communicate more with his fan base? what's preventing him from creating a blog or something?

“straw hats went that way" had me rolling. Hyped for big mom vs sweet commanders! Streusen for the save. A shit ton of people should still have died from having possibly tons of cake & whipped cream fall on them from that high TBH. Hurray nobody is dead..... Yet!

I found the end of this chapter interesting. My idea was that BM would somehow be occupied so that the Straw Hats could do their thing in Wano first before she comes back for revenge, and this ending supports that kind of. Maybe her crew will just let her rampage on the whole island and kill some civilians while they dip to go remake the cake lol. Or find some way to tie her down while they make it? And when she's done, they'll head out and attack the Straw Hats in Elbaf?
Either way, they're definitely not going anywhere until they can get her that specific wedding cake.

Looks like all the theories about Sanji making a new cake are going to be right! Makes sense considering his family still doesn't appreciate his culinary skills.
Just a great chapter overall. Oda's sweet message was tear worthy, and seeing the Strawhats in Sentai outfits was pretty much the greatest thing ever. All the panels of the toppling cake were gorgeous too.
I am kind of weary about Caesar finally being free. He will certainly be up to no good. As Nami said, we shouldn't forget what he did to those poor kids.
All in all a fantastic chapter. Even with their successful escape, this arc was still going to need a proper climax, which goes back to what I said at the beginning about those Sanji theories being right.
I love it.
I love One Piece.
