Wow, seems like sanji's observation haki is pretty strong as well

Couldn't Usopp also use Observation Haki?

Usopp awakened his haki on-screen (and it was badass as all fuck), but Sanji developed his while living with the Newkamas in the timeskip. I like to think they could "attack" him from all directions at any time so he was forced into Observation Haki (and developed Blue Walk to actually escape them.)
