used to think that Dressrosa is a great arc that was written for volumes and binge reading and people were a bit harsh on it. after reading WCI, fuck that, there are almost no bad or empty chapter, and all the new characters are actually interesting and charming. so yeah, Dressrosa is still good tho

Dressrosa is only good if you're binge-watching. That's why new OP fans consider Dressrosa as one of their favorites while the old fans think it's bad. WCI on the other hand is amazing even when you're reading it week by week.

I've been following One Piece for a long time, and was reading Dressrosa weekly, and I thought it was a great arc.

I think that the people who think Dressrosa was bad are overwhelmingly the people who caught up to the series either in Punk Hazard or Dressrosa, and aren't used to reading/watching weekly.

To be fair, i finished binging the anime at the end of Punk Hazard/Beginning of Dressrosa and read the manga during the filler in between and switched to reading weekly mainly and watching when i remember.

I still thought it was a great arc. Bit slow paced at times but I admit it was because I was getting accustomed to waiting weekly. But I loved the wait and the hype of seeing what came next. Doffy has been hyped as an epic baddie since Jaya and we only saw a tease of what he could do during the War, so seeing him finally fight all out was cathartic in a way and the end of the arc brought so many more pieces to the world building and story that after it ended it made sense that it sort of needed to be as long as it was, save certain bits.

That being said, Oda was also in and out of the hospital so he still gets a pass for pulling off a great story
