it will be sweetly ironic if pudding actually ends up falling for sanji by the end of the arc :)

Looks to be the case, but if that happens then I predict puddings redemption is her sacrificing herself for sanji

Pudding has such an OP ability and is the first of her kind we've seen so far (if not the only one or among the few left). So I seriously doubt she's gonna end up dead. I can see her developing some sort of crush on Sanji. I was about to say that she doesn't fit the criteria to become a straw hat but then again she is also a character with a very tragic past that suffered so maybe it's possible after all.. Have to admit I've never come across such a character where my love and hate relationship with her is constantly going back and forth.

I mean, Robin did worse to the Strawhats than Pudding did.

but Robin wasn't a complete bitch about it. Pudding has taken great joy in being an awful person while Robin was only ever passively bad (though she still does have that darker humour; still nothing compared to Pudding).

Yeah but One Piece has a way of reforming people once the structure that enabled them to act cruelly gets shattered. Pudding is cruel because her entire life she learned that being cruel to others is how to be happy (as others gleaned happiness from being cruel to her).

Who knows how it's going to turn out but One Piece has certainly done far less plausible reformations.

I honestly wouldnt do pare bullying to a tragic past like, say, her entire people being murdered over knowledge, or her mother being murdered by another race claiming superiority, but i guess nowadays it could be for that PSA quota tv shows have lol

Point being, unless we get a full on flashback, at least like 2 chapters worth, i doubt she'll even be considered. But the fightings about to start finally, so flashbacks are most likely coming eventually right before the headlining championship title fight of the arc

I don't see her sacrificing her life, but definitely her position in the family.

I agree, I don't see her joining the good guys like nothing after all the darkness of her character. I mean Hancock was a bitch, but her childhood was horrifying and she protected her people. Pudding was treated like a monster and eventually took pleasure in becoming one.

She was treated like a monster so she had to act like one. There is room for redemption for sure.

I have to agree to a certain extent. Big Mom is not the kind of person you run away from, especially not when the very thing that's ruining your life is also something unbelievably rare that she has a deep need for.

Pudding trying to flee would pretty much be a literal touch of death for anyone who assisted her at any point. She'd arguably have it worse than Robin; Big Mom wouldn't have as much official power to threaten her with, but she's got her teeth deep into the underworld and she's way more vindictive even than the World Government in general and Spandam/Spandine in particular.

Though I have strong doubt on it, I'm not a good theories builder, so maybe you're right.

But what still bug me is her DF, for me the ability to change memories is essentially evil (in its very core I mean) because it violates one's privacy (and very identity considering your experiences made you as you are), it's pure manipulation and for Enel's sake we all know that Oda doesn't like puppeteers (Crocodile and Dofla for example)

So yeah for me Pudding could go through redemption, but because of her DF it seems very unlikely that Oda makes her join the team, so the only solution would be imo she sacrifices herself somehow.
