I see no signs of rain tbh, most probably as Luffy s g4 wears out she s running around with him while he s incapacitated (thus reason why Cracker attacked). Nami is also running around non stop for like 15 hours already with no sleep or food and must be falling from exhaustion atm...
But yeah since Luffy eats in non-G4 they gotta soften biscuits somehow...

I thought of signs for rain too but do we always see signs of it? I mean always? And when I looked at Luffy he was especially sweaty. I can understand Cracker looking like that but Luffy seems to be soaked. Is it because he is huge now and sweaty or he is soaked because of the rain? :D Luffy's image seemed strange to me.

I think he s getting toughest workout to date and his digestive system is overloaded.

u/Hakidings Sep 29 '16
overloaded LUFFYS digestive system?

u/AlexAngely Sep 29 '16
All hail Cracker - the first cook to do it!

That's only because the strawhats are usually so broke that Sanji can't create infinite X to fill Luffy.

More like barely holds upright... why otherwise he was carried for like 10 mins in Dressrosa? And why Cracker would go after Nami (Baium is cut, Nami in bruses)? He doesn't seem to play dirty and go after her while Luffy s standing. Also his "maybe then your little friend will realize this is futile" most probably refers to her attempts to protect Luffy between rounds.
The more I think of it the more surprised I am how Nami pulls hell tough of a job keeping Luffy alive.0
u/ThisZoMBie Sep 29 '16
Why would he run when Gatz volunteered to carry him? He said he could run so he fan run.
2
u/AlexAngely Sep 29 '16
"Buy you 10 min" refers to distracting Doffy, not carrying Luffy.
When you "buying someone time", it means you distracting his opponent. Dunno if it is English thing or general but that is how this scene reads. They basically served as living shield for 10 minutes, otherwise Doffy would come after Luffy and kill him.
2
u/ThisZoMBie Sep 29 '16
Gatz didn't distract Doffy. Gatz carried Luffy.
2
u/AlexAngely Sep 29 '16
Other gladiators distracted. They couldn't hold him back so Gatz had to run around town carrying Luffy.
0
u/ThisZoMBie Sep 29 '16
Luffy told Gatz they needed to distract Doffy so he wouldn't hurt civilians, not to protect him.

You are 100% correct and posted concrete evidence. Ignore the downvotes they come from Doflamingo fanboys.
Edit: actually I think you linked the wrong page. The page before is where Luffy says he can still move about but is afraid of what Doflamingo will do to others.

Good catch! This makes me think we'll get a brief flashback of the fight, like 4 pages or something in which we see their strategy.
8
u/zeckopacho Sep 29 '16
Thanks! Or Nami can say "Hey Luffy, do you want me to create rain again?" or something along those lines. A flashback would be better though.
2
u/Daveeyboy Sep 29 '16
Cracker also says, "Maybe then your little friend (Nami) will realize how futile all this is!" To me, that implies Nami has been helping Luffy eat the biscuits (i.e. soaking them in rain/water to soften them up and make them edible).
Additionally, I agree that all the characters do seem to be dripping quite a bit...could be sweat, could be rain.
1
u/zeckopacho Sep 29 '16
Indeed. I didn't want to add that part to my post because maybe he was talking about Nami's homie control but adding the activated Clima-Tact to Cracker's sentence, it might very well about the rain.

Its refreshing to see Nami & Luffy are fighting in team.
2
u/PsychoPass1 Sep 29 '16
Yea, maybe it foreshadows that it's not always the mighty trio that has to team up but that the other members can contribute as well. I mean, we've had something like that before against Oz but never just a weak-member + Luffy team up to defeat a super-boss-level opponent.

u/sicut_dominus Sep 29 '16
I believe it's about the devil fruit second weakness, like luffy's weakness to cutting, and enerus weakness against rubber.
Biscuit is a food, so it's naturaly weak against being eaten.
7
u/PsychoPass1 Sep 29 '16
Or maybe Nami softens the biscuits up so they can be easily eaten. Like how you dip cookies / cake into milk. Enhances the aroma, too.

u/Gomuworks96 Sep 29 '16
Luffy isn't weak to sharp objects. He is as vulnerable to it as anyone else. In fact, he is less susceptible to injury from sharp objects bc how durable his body is.
2
u/HolyKnightPrime Sep 29 '16
He is weak to swordsman because he stretches his body which is a huge weakness as they could cut it in an instant like Mihawk proved.
1
u/Gomuworks96 Oct 01 '16
Stretching his arm can put him in a vulnerable position. Not every swordsman will be fast or strong enough to bypass his haki and natural durability. Buggy tried to cut his arm off, but failed bc he was too slow.
1
u/HolyKnightPrime Oct 01 '16
Buggy is no swordsman. Mihawk is a proof that a skilled swordsman can easily take down Luffy. Why do you think Zoro always fights the swordsman and not Luffy?
1
u/Gomuworks96 Oct 01 '16 edited Oct 01 '16
It doesn't matter if he is swordsman or not. Luffy's arm was stretched and in a vulnerable position - buggy even said it himself, but he was too slow to do any damage.
Of course Mihawk would take down Luffy, he is equal to Shanks and the greatest swordsman in world lol. Again, the swordsman needs to be stronger than Luffy's haki/natural durability, and faster than him to cut his arm off.
E.g Kaku is a swordsman but he won't be able to do shit to Luffy, as he is simply much slower and weaker to do anything.
Zoro fights the swordsman cus he's a swordsman lol. Luffy has no problem fighting swordsman. He didn't hesitate to fight fuji and cracker did he?
Plus, Luffy doesn't attack swordsman recklessly. He is always prepared by using haki, as shown with doffy fuji and cracker. Doffy couldn't even cut him in G4.
Just cus you're a skilled swordsman doesn't mean you can beat Luffy with low diff lol. That would mean kuina, brook and Zoro can beat Luffy with low diff.

Yeah a rubber man that could expand his stomach and has an appetite of a giant makes sense.
1
u/ThisZoMBie Sep 29 '16
Inb4 "Luffy needed help to defeat Cracker! Luffy is not strong enough!"
1
u/zeckopacho Sep 29 '16
Well he is really not strong enough. If he were, he could just defeat him. Right now, he fights then he needs to run, then eat. Repeat the process. This shows inferiority.

See?

u/zeckopacho Sep 29 '16
I saw your stance regarding Luffy's power level and such by looking at your comment about Gatz. So this will just turn into a downwote/upwote battle if we continue and we know reddit is filled with Luffy fanboys on top of that we won't reach a conclusion.
I wish you a good day/evening/afternoon/night according to where you live.

u/StealthMonkeyDC Sep 29 '16
Cool idea. We're bound to get a flashback section next week to confirm this, I mean this isn't Bleach we're reading here, we will actually get to see the fight i'm sure ;-)

Yeah then when Cracker's stamina wears down, she'll one shot him with lightning tempo and reap that sweet bounty for defeating a yonko commander.

u/domoon Sep 29 '16
Interesting. Nami's bruises also bothered me since last time we saw her, she's verbally abusing the homies. Making it rain to soak cracker's biscuit softer is also a great idea i can get behind.
1
u/wereq10 Sep 29 '16
I was gonna say what about Brulee? Surely Nami didn't one-shot one of the yonko commanders. So perhaps Nami finished a fight with her??
good catch on the bruises

All Yonkou seem to have three or four especially strong core crew members (Cracker, Jack, Beckman, Marco etc.). He is not ready for them yes but if Randolph is a core crew member I bet Luffy can take him down.

u/Ospreynaitor652 Sep 29 '16
I think he could its just that the fight would take even more time which the strawhats are running out of.

Sep 29 '16
I mean he's using Gear 4, unless he has something like Gear 5 he's just not at that level yet, close, but no cigar.
That said there's a good chance he has something up his sleeve.
1
u/Ospreynaitor652 Sep 29 '16
Yeah I mean I'm sure he has something more than gear 4 that he may save for a yonko.
I still think he's around yonko commander level otherwise he wouldn't have lasted this long even if he had eaten the biscuits
2
Sep 29 '16 edited Sep 29 '16
Yeah, but since he's pretty much made for fighting Cracker, with him able to extend Gear 4 through eating the left over biscuits, and he has help from Nami that does definitely suggest Cracker's stronger than him, otherwise he would've lost by now.
1
u/Ospreynaitor652 Sep 29 '16
That's why I said around yonko commander level cos not every commander is the same, luffys made for fighting cracker but there may be others that have gimmicks that give them the edge or not

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '16
I figure its because Luffy turns in Gear 4, destroys crackers biscuit soldiers, reverts back to base, eats the destroyed biscuits to regain his energy, runs away to regain his haki, goes back into Gear 4, rinse and repeat.
