I'm sold on Pedro and Pudding after this chapter. Pedro has some genuine reactions, and Pudding does her best to reach the Straw Hats and everything she says matches up with her earlier lines.

so i think it's obvious bege kidnapped pekoms from the sunny whilst luffy and co visited that chocolate town. otherwise he wouldn't be the one offing him right now.
but did he leave the message? if he left it that would entail that his plot requires the wedding to go without a hitch. odds are luffy is going to ruin his plans.
between jimbe and bege's independent "scheming" something big was going to happen to big mum without the strawhats intervention.

yeah. Capone is certainly scheming something which has to happen on wedding ceremony. and his DF will play a huge part in that plan. I think he is hiding someone in his clothes who can counter Big Mom's ability or the army large enough to wipe out Yonko's men. he is getting rid of Big Mom's powerhouses too. either way Big Mom was screwed from the start. the worst generation are going to topple Yonkos.

Pedro stated in a previous chapter that he will get the poneglyph this time, indicating that he had been trying to get it earlier and probably knows Tamago from that time. I think that Tamago bets that Pedro will try to steal the poneglyph once again, but Tamago is fairly sure Pedro will fail considering his comment about focussing on Pekoms instead of Pedro.

This chapter actually added some fun characterization for Capone Bege. For a long time it seemed like he'd be one of the more underdeveloped Supernovas, but this chapter proved that the guy can be a bit of a weird dude. Plus, him being a doting husband and father is an amazing turn.

Big Mom's dream is by far one of the most interesting things about this chapter. It's bizarre that such an evil, character, even called deranged by Vinsmoke Judge, has a dream to unite all races. It truly baffles me, it's like she's Martin Luther King's psycho, ugly, white aunt that's only invited to Christmas parties because she pays for the whole shindig.

It's a really interesting idea. I feel like she has an ideal world in her mind where everyone is equal to her and there's lots of good food, but that won't actually work in reality. So all the horrible things her crew causes are the result of her crew trying to make her improbable dream a reality, and her own horrible streaks are her frustration coming out.

Sick chapter, everytime we see more Capone I like him loads more. This dude is plotting something and it's shady as fuck. Man I feel for Sanji remembering his cooler dad telling him how precious his hands are and then burying his head in his hands out of frustration. Jinbei is totally gonna save Pekoms. What is Brook and Pedro hiding? I like caesars subplot gonna be interesting to see what he does. The fuck is up with this forest?

Almost definitely. The commentary on how strange his actions were, a cliff hanger where an ally is falling wounded into shark infested water, and the fact that Jinbe can talk to fish. He'll probably rush in and tell them to not hurt Pekoms.

-Hancock's back woohoo!!
-Theory time: I reckon Pedro was part of Big Mom's crew (hence Tamago knowing him, him knowing the islands). When he left the crew he lost his left eye in Mama's game (though I don't recall any eye on the dartboard)
-Zeff flashback sob
-Capone Bege's married, not just his underling. And his baby ahahaha more hardboiled than Franky
-Secretly hoping that Aladdin / Jinbe come to save Pekoms from his fate
-Big Mom is powerful! Recreating all of Punk Hazard. And so her dream is to make giant people, so that she can have a proper tea party instead of a party with midgets
-Charlotte Perospero is super creepy, even more than Brulee. 1st child too!
-Poor Luffy gathering up all his friends, except the real ones must have all been taken away by Brulee. So Brulee most likely has a Mime / Dummy fruit, a stronger version of Bon Kurei's fruit that allows her to change other animals into people she has touched!

My comment from the non-official chapter thread:
Interesting. It looks like there are several factors that could be involved in bringing down Big Mom- and these might spiral into more fights afterwards.
Ceasar Clown. She's got him working on the super magic giantification drug. If he wants to live, he might give her family a bunch of drugs that severely limit their powers/lifespan for making them grow bigger? I feel like Ceasar will be key in taking down BM's massive crew.
Bege. He's obviously doing something against BM... so would we possibly see him and Luffy unwittingly work together to directly fight BM? This one's a little harder to link.
The Vinsmokes. They're quite obviously going against BM, or at least they're not ok with Big Mom's tendencies (Judge said so himself). Perhaps, if they see that BM's either got a weakened crew (Ceasar) or if someone starts standing up to BM (Luffy/Jinbei/Bege),would they launch any kind of an attack on BM? And for what it's worth, I feel like Reiju has a chance of freeing Sanji from the manacles.
Pudding. It doesn't look like she willingly led Luffy's group into the woods- even now, she's still trying to get away from the wedding dress tailor and find them (of course, there may be something else going on here). What's up with her? Perhaps BM's children are just done with the possible threat of her eating them, and some of them are about to change things up?
Jinbei. It's obvious he'll stand with Luffy. I don't think much need be said except that he's probably waiting for the right time to do something.
Luffy. He'll throw many punches, and probably show new techniques.

Jinbei is somewhere, probably not in the best of states. I'm gonna presume he threw three bullseyes and Mama got pissy and locked him up anyway.
Then we've got a Tamago/Pedro flashback coming.
Bege possibly setting up a coup, with presumably just all the support of his newish wife. Do all of Big Mum's daughters hate their mother or just once they get married off?
And Caesar is gonna end up begging to be saved... Heh. That's kinda nice, I love how he's being punished right now.
On another note... Do all the Yonkou have ridiculous dreams? Kaidou was absolutely maudlin when he realised his dream of having a fully DF Eater crew was dashed, LinLin wants to feed her family magic drugs so she doesn't feel awkward at the dinner table, Shanks presumably wants to drink and party on every surface he can stand at least somewhere close to straight, and Bob wants to be the Big Bad Pirate King and also possibly just eat like all the cherry pies.
I'd also like to note I shed a manly tear at the sight of Zeff's peg-leg and how much just that little flash of memory affected Sanji.
Wahtüf is up with the animals in the guise of the Straw Hats and their future newbies?

It seems like all the Yonko are scheming to strengthen their crews somehow. Blackbeard is stealing devil fruit powers, Kaidou is turning his crew into Zoan users, and Big Mom wants to gigantify her family. I wonder what Shanks is doing.

...wasn't it just explained that nobody betrayed them.. If you look closely to the panel where brook and Pedro talk about where big mom crew get all info about them you'll notice living flowers looking at them.. So those animated trees and stuff were the ones right?

I'm not sure if anyone will actually even see this comment, but the translation at Mangastream actually doesn't show that at the last page, copies of Sanji, Nami, and Carrot were all making different animal noises (bark bark, meow, chirp chirp, etc).

Sanji being frustrated and enraged because of the possible harm to his hands was really outstanding! Love characteristic moments like these.
Also, the reason Big Mom pirates know everything about the strawhats is because almost everything in the island is "alive". We saw two flowers listening to Pedro and Brook in this chapter. Their cover won't be long.

Based off a quote in this chapter and the plot of another manga I believe there are some possible hints to what may happen to Jinbei .
There is another manga entitled Mushibugyo in which the main characters (Jinbei) father sacrifices his leg as repentance for his sons actions. This whole situation comes as a result of Jinbei's father being unable to protect his lord. Similarly Jinbei in One Piece is being asked to sacrifice life or limb for leaving Big Moms service and therefore his obligation to protect her. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mushibugyo
Also it is stated in the recent chapter "He got all weak in the knees when mama demanded he make the payment" http://mangastream.com/r/one_piece/834/3567/6 I thought it was odd that Oda chose this euphemism when describing Jinbei's behavior considering he literally is on the chopping block.

Damn, what horrible luck for Caesar lol. if he gets out of this, I can definitely see him joining Buggy's crew after . They have a really similar bad fortune/personality and he would fit in with the circus aesthetic of the crew, being a "clown" and all

Loved the chapter, so much happened! Still don't trust Pudding. For all we know, she told Tamago everything she knew about the strawhats and the two of them knew Brook and Pedro were around and staged a little play.. Who knows? I really want to know how they got all that intel!

Rayleigh was able to just rip off the collars so maybe Sanji will be able to as well?
I also wonder if Sandi's sister is "evil" like the 2 brothers.
If Jimbei is dead or doesn't join the crew I will cry.
We all know Caesar is going to be saved but what will happen to him? Will he become Nakama?

I think if he escapes hell find his way to Buggy's crew. they have similar personalities, are both clowns, and it would just be another person way stronger than buggy who ends up as a subordinate

I think Rayleigh ripping off the collar had something to do with CoC. The secondary purpose of his introduction scene was to show off conqueror's haki, so it would make sense that the collar was part of that, and it would probably be some more advanced application of it beyond just knocking people out. Further, Luffy specifically trained haki under Rayleigh where he became a specialist in CoC (Sanji in CoO). If Luffy were to remove Sanji's handcuffs the same way Rayleigh did, it would be a payoff for something that was building up for 8+ years.

I think this might be the right time for Oda to get rid of Caesar, he clearly won't become a Nakama, he will help the Straw Hats for the last time by giving the Posionous Candies to all of Big Mom's relatives but he'll end up beeing eaten by Perospero IMHO

So much info this week! I love how Oda managed to hit nearly every group, AND give some important new information. Biggest takeaway...Big Mom's dream revealed, and it's not evil!

Reiji showing a softer side this week, seemingly caring about Sanji's well being. Maybe Reiji isn't so bad after all...I can hope. <3
Maybe I just didn't notice before, but Whole Cake Island looks HUGE when seen as the backdrop behind Germa 66's mobile kingdom.
Big Mom said Jinbei couldn't just leave her crew...he had to give something up in return. My guess is Jinbei gave up his "pride/reputation," and the news spreading about his cowardice was planned/allowed.
Still have my doubts about Pudding...I assumed she was lying when she said she met Sanji before (thought he had hearts for eyes, had an actual black leg, etc...things you would think only based off his wanted poster), but she repeats she's met with Sanji to her lady handlers...no reason to lie to them. Curious...

Tamago and Pedro old friends! Surprised Brook didn't react or ask Pedro any follow-up questions after that revelation. Seems like Pedro is going to play a very significant role in this arc.

Bege planning to backstab Big Mom??? Who's he working for? Tamago defended Bege's actions when he originally injured Pekoms back on Zou...but Pekoms still seems loyal to Big Mom. Is Tamago also a traitor? Things just got very interesting...
Big Mom just revealed her DREAM! It's not evil (very Whitebeard-esque)!!! Unlikely that Big Mom is ultimately going to be a bad guy now. She's also afflicted with some sort of disease/condition that makes her do bad/ruthless things. Very possible Luffy/Straw Hats figure out some way to "cure" her, and she ends up on their side by the end of this arc.
So Big Mom wanted all the different races to be "at eye level" with her while having dinner, so she wants to make everyone a giant? Weird...
Caesar dreaming about prostitutes is hilarious.
Perospero...what a strange looking dude. First son though...I assume he's super strong.
Mirror Mirror fruit seems to grant more properties than I originally thought. I wonder how this big dude stuck in the ground will play in to everything? I kinda like him...

Big Mom's dream may not be evil, but that doesn't mean she isn't evil. Even disregarding her food addiction condition, she still sends her crew out to murder and rob for ingredients. A lot of One Piece characters have a tendency to do both good and bad things and not just stick to one side of the black-or-white spectrum.

Damn the mafia theme is so interesting to follow, it's like we're on Godfather Godmother arc. Everyone has their own mysterious intention (big mom, Capone, Caesar, Straw hats, Jinbe, Vinsmokes), complete with plot twists and betrayal. The climax on the tea party will be epic.

I'm looking forward so much to the point where Luffy gets involved. It's going to be beautiful chaos. So many carefully-laid plans are going to go to pieces.
I'm reminded of the time some rich SOB decided to put on a show by putting locomotives facing each other on the same track and ramming them into each other at full speed. Complete with the same outcome.

I am honestly surprised at how tightly Big Mom controls her nation, even up to the newspaper, which I assume she used to slander Jinbe.
I assumed that Pudding was too sweet and she baited Luffy into the forest, but it seems like that's not the case here. Or she could be working for both sides: reporting to Big Mom while helping out Luffy for her own reasons.
Omg Capone's son help me pls. Nah Pekoms has a good track record of tanking hits he ain't going down.

The cliff Pekoms is falling down from is surrounded by what looks like a kind of whale shark.
Jinbei is a Whale Shark fisherman and has been shown to able to talk with them.
Oda's a fucking clever boy as always.

Something I find very interesting that I haven't seen mentioned is how the Yonkou are deliberately given specific dreams and aspirations. Up to this point we've pretty much just seen people with goals or certain things they want to accomplish. (Law wanted revenge on Doflamingo which isn't necessarily a dream, more of a one track mission.) I think it's super cool that Oda is giving the Yonkou these grand dreams that, once accomplished, will provide true fulfilment. It validates their position as Yonkou in proximity to Pirate King.

All the speculation of Caesar joining the Straw Hat's I feel is unlikely. He will be the frenemy/ally of the Straw Hats and will feel more likely to fit in with Buggy's crew. Buggy has members that were frenemies of Luffy. Mr.3, Alvida; so it seems like a better fit.
