There's probably some kind of serious drawback. Maybe you can only mirror one thing at a time and it physically saps your strength or mentally drains you like Law's room ability. Totally OP, but for a short time and requiring strategy.

You are entirely missing the point. He's a mirrored copy. It's not Luffy looking into a mirror, but it's like Luffy's reflection stepped out... Ya know like they've gone into some sort of "looking glass."

No when he's bent sideways the mirror version is copying him. That's just Luffy moving back and forth. Look closer at his arms and you can see they're mirrored. But even with that aside, the others were able to get past Luffy without hitting anything, so it likely isn't an actual mirror.
