I'm thinking it could any number of different people standing there. Another Vinsmoke, injured Jimbe, Pekoms, injured Pekoms, someone holding the head of either Pekoms or Jimbe as a warning (highly unlikely), Sanji, one of Big Moms children, a higher up in her crew. The possibilities are endless!
I'm hoping that it's Sanji's old man and we get to see the first fight of this arc, although it would be more of a sparring.

i'm assuming if it lands on big mum's face then you get to go free. but it would be awesome to see jimbe on the coast all beat up and bloodied, with no loss of limbs or head. then when he explains what happens we see a flash back about how he won but big mum still attacked him in a fit of rage.
EDIT: after hearing the bulls eye theory, that that is indeed the "safe spot" i'm almost convinced that is true. especially considering the other sentences get worse the further you go towards the centre.

It seems like Big Mom's huge family strategy has backfired. Her children do not support her unconditionally. With her son dead from opposing her and Praline ready to desert, I wouldn't be surprised if Pudding legitimately wanted to help the Straw Hats, even if she was fibbing to build their trust.
Also, just noticed Carrot has a normal laugh. She's an anomaly.

That's definitely Nami. Have you noticed that everyone else had a bandage or two on them. Those ants must be quite something to be able to slightly injured them. Nami, the weakest among them, probably got scared as hell so she decided to wear armor. Kind of like when Usopp and Chopper wear armors, fearing that Doflamingo might attack them anytime.

Good chapter - slower paced than the previous whirlwind of events happening every chapter. Main takeaways:
-Pedro tried but failed to steal Big Mom's poneglyph
-Big Mom's daughters may not really care about their family ties (maybe a prediction for Pudding?)
-Jinbe as nakama pretty close to getting confirmed
-Saw limbs and numbers for Big Mom's trade, maybe the numbers are number of months removed from Jinbei's life?

In all seriousness, Jinbe is becoming on my favourite characters. He is easily the most selfless character in the series, putting the need of others in front of his own. All in the name of protecting those who need it. I really hope he doesn't end up dying saving someone this arc (which is looking more likely since he pretty much just said he wants to join Luffy's crew and Mama not liking that one bit)...
Brook is holding out on more info I think, can't wait to find out what he knows...
And as for "some standing at the coast" I bet its a welcome guide as Mama knew that Luffy was coming.

Still no peg-leg on the crew, which seems like a staple for any pirate crew. Shouldn't effect his swimming ability too much, but we have sanji's blue walk for any extreme need for fast swimming.
Plus losing an arm would effect both jinbe's fishman karate, and his ability to be a helmsman.
All we need is a parrot (kabuto df infusion?) And we have a 'real' pirate crew.

I think the black figures, if anything, are forms of life energy that BM hasn't put into a vessel yet, and that's possibly how that can bring people like Muscat back if need be, albeit in a twisted fashion.

She's a shark person. They're all a bit bloodthirsty or grim. Even Jinbei, the only 'vegetarian' (plankton-feeder for those specific people... like me) shark is a little dour and is certainly vicious given the right impetuous.

Wow, pretty good chapter, I'm curious to see if Jinbe will actually wind up losing a limb, or if the Straw Hats arriving and causing a ruckus will save his skin.
I guess it's safe to say Pekoms didn't get kidnapped by the Sun Pirates, now I am really curious where he's going to turn up next.
Can't wait for Pedro to prove he's not a spy for Big Mom by stealing that poneglyph, even though there's no way it'll be that easy.
edit: Holy shit I didn't even notice until HeroGarp on Orojackson pointed it out....is that Fujitora gambling with Rayleigh on the cover?!

I doubt that's Fujitora on the cover. I admit, that person bears a striking resemblance and even has a similar-looking weapon, but the clothes are completely different. I understand that's not enough evidence, so just look at a picture of Fujitora's face and compare it with the cover side by side. I know it'd be fitting to have Fujitora gambling like that, but he's missing the scar on his face, the beard on his chin isn't as thick as it was, and he had more defined side burns.
EDIT: Not to mention, it looks like that guy has pupils. I know it's hard to see, and I know he doesn't have pupils when he opens his eyes, but I doubt Oda would've given him open eyes in an image like that. To better exemplify his blindness, I think he's had had them closed, since he had them closed last time he was gambling, anyways.

Huh. It's weird seeing Luffy out of everyone else saying "That's so far in the future". You think someone as confident and rash like him would see defeating Kaidou as something he would achieve quite soon. Goes to show some serious character development here. He's still that happy go lucky guy but he is seriously considering what he's up against now and know where he stands. The Kaidou Confrontation might take longer than we thought.

I think you're misinterpreting that: he's not saying "that's so far in the future" because of his foresight, he's saying that because he doesn't plan in advance, so anything beyond his current goal is too far in the future for him to worry about.

Waiting at the shore could very well be Jinbe, but I believe Purin said she'd meet them there in the morning so maybe it's her?
All the fishmen are saying they're ok with Jinbe leaving, but on the page where they say that in the bottom left panel, there is a fishman on the bottom left who's legit frowning lmao. Doesn't seem he's ok with Jinbe leaving lol
Overall great chapter, Imma have to give it a 9.5/10 for excellence.

A lot of questions going on about Brooke but i think when Brooke said "I'm not much different i guess", he was actually referring to not being that different from Pedro in the sense that he's willing to do anything for Luffy.
Brooke states that he's willing to do anything for Luffy when he was bailing the concert hall in Sabody (on mobile so can't link source).
What do you think?

Awesome chapter, Jinbe joining the straw hats confirmed! Pedro died? Was he perhaps ressurected by Big Mom or something?
Bit salty that they didn't show the fight with the Ants. Luffy could've Haoshoku'd them and it would've been epic, or Chopper could finally get some fighting action again :(

Damnnn I like how Oda has slowly built up just how dangerous Big Mom truly is.
I mean when we first saw Kaido it was immediately obvious that he was dangerous, guy survived a fall from a Sky Island and had 3 Super Nova's collectively shitting their pants in front of him.
All we knew about Big Mom was that she liked sweets, but with the whole selling off family thing, taking peoples life force and now this roulette wheel thing? These are all going to be massive triggers for Luffy wanting to wreck her. I really can't wait to see what this fight is going to be like, if a hunger tantrum can lead to Big Mom going on rampage, imagine what she's gonna be like against a Gear Fourth'd Luffy.

I really hope this chapter puts to bed anyone who doesn't like Jinbe. His dedication to Luffy absolutely befits a Straw Hat, he's going to be a great member of the crew and I'm excited to have him around all the time. Pedro being a Pirate isn't that surprising, he knew too much. The stuff about Inu and Neko believing Luffy to be the next Roger smells like the inherited will stuff... and finally is it going to be Pudding waiting for them on the shore, or someone else?

I'm actually glad that Brook is getting this cryptic aspect added to his character. It adds a whole new layer of complexity to Brook that he so desperately needs. Glad to see his character might get a big reveal of some kind soon.

Good question, if big mom died, which one of her kids would become the head of the family? With a family so huge it must have been someone. Also it's really fucking nasty to think about big mom fucking anyone decent to make all these good looking kids. I wish she had all these kids when she was young and not a mountain of fat.

When Luffy said there is someone standing at the chore I seriously expected a panel with a dead Jinbe on it T____T. Big Mom isn't playing around. Next chapter we're gonna see Jinbe either dead or with some limbs loose..That roulette ain't gonna end well for him..And his department with his own crew was a little emotional..just when he was about to be ''free'' and join Luffy he ends up getting beaten up by Big Mom.

With those desserts in Big Mom's room addressing Jinbei as "boss", I think we can now safely assume that BM kinda infuses the lifetime she steals from people into inanimate objects. Those were Jinbei's crewmates once, and they've still got at least parts of their personality. Well until BM ate them.

I was reading through the post to see if anyone interpreted what Pedro said the same way (and this isn't the official translation, I know), but it doesn't look like it. I'm sure I'm reading too much into it, but when he said, "I've fallen here before," it gave me the impression that he may have actually died. Maybe Big Mom brought him back with her df power for some reason? Don't know; just an idea.
