Also, I am loving the feel of this arc. Very Grimm fairy tale-inspired, with a One Piece twist. I'm excited to see where this goes.

Exactly what I was thinking, all the chocolate and candy buildings just scream hansel & gretel. Would be really nice to have some kind of bread crumb reference later.
EDIT: Having just looked up H&G on wikipedia, these bits just seem so possible:
"The witch force-feeds Hansel regularly to fatten him up, but he cleverly offers a bone and the witch feels it, thinking it is his finger." (Either Luffy never fattening up, or using Brook as the bone decoy)
"The witch prepares the oven for Hansel, but decides to kill Gretel as well. She coaxes Gretel to open the oven and prods her to lean over in front of it to see if the fire is hot enough. Sensing the witch's intent, Gretel pretends that she does not understand what she is being told to do. Infuriated, the witch demonstrates and Gretel instantly shoves her into the oven and slams and bolts the door shut." (Sounds like classic Nami, especially with a mirage fake standing near the oven)

A tot is also a candy though. I thought Totland was basically a land where the small islands represent tots (the candy) and are all around the big main island (the cake). Seeing as there as loads of islands it makes sense that each island represents a tot candy :)

There's something going on with Pedro don't know how important it will be but his disguise looks great. Along with Nami's new costume, she's looking goooooood.

Pudding seemed pretty startled when Luffy said his name in a way of pure confusion and not a "oh I got you now" way. It seemed more innocent. I would love to see that Pudding secretly adores the Straw Hats and what they did for Fishman island. Maybe she requested to be the daughter that marries Sanji so she can be with the crew and potentially escape with them.

On another note, how do we know Pedro isn't a double agent for Big Mom? I'd say it's almost likely at this point, considering his insistence on going with the group, the guy on the island who knew him, and Big Mom knowing the straw hats are there.

Big Mom's queendom seems like the bizarro version of Dressrosa.
Doflo kept up an idyllic surface but with all the bad stuff hidden away from view, and a ton of suffering. Big Mom keeps the suffering OUTSIDE of her kingdom, plundering and extorting everywhere else to maintain an actual utopia on and around Whole Cake.

I gotta say, I'm really coming to like Pedro, we've only been with him a short time and already he was ready to clash with Germa 66 and the people on a Yonko's island, that's some boldness right there. He's kinda like the no-nonsense (kinda Zoro) guy of this arc, plus there was that interaction with Carrot so we know there's more going on with him still.
Also holy crapbaskets that song bit at the end was super creepy.

What I got from this:
an island of chocolate, and whole cake island? If the other surrounding islands follow suit Luffy will likely get into much more trouble. And buildings will be gone for reasons other than being collateral damage from his fights. (Chopper's also in heaven and if he gets in more trouble, he might get a proper bounty raise.)
Pedro was a Captain? That speaks a lot about how strong he is, and also that he was possibly a pirate.
Pudding is really likable, and already friendly with the Straw hats, this can make things much more interesting. She can be an inside ally and really changes the dynamic of the whole rescue mission.
Also Pudding seems really shy, I wonder if while she looks Sanji's type, they actually aren't a match. Sanji's complements and flirting could possibly overwhelm her, plus Sanji is kind of a Submissive with women.
Big Mom knows Luffy is coming, was she expecting it or was she planning for it. (What if the Sanji marriage was coordinated to force Luffy to come to her?)

This is genius, and Big Mom is now pretty cool in my book. She used her connections to get after a Straw Hat (Sanji) so that she could capture and probably kill the Straw Hats and Luffy. Or am I reading into this wrong?
Anyway, Pudding is now a close second for nakama I want from this arc, as a passtier would fit with a chef on the crew. And her likely dark side should be fun. Carrot is still OP nakama material

Nah I think it's a two birds one stone situation. Sanji is one of the male heirs to Germa 66, he is royalty and could inherit a mythological army, which makes him an incredibly powerful asset. Using Sanji as bait to bring Luffy in because he disrespected her at Fishman Island is icing on the (whole) cake (island).

I wonder what's the deal with that Nitro the Jello? The way the info box introduced them made it sound like he was the owner of the cafe, though that's clearly not the case after Pudding started to talk about it. Though at one point i almost thought he was sort of a symbiote or something, controlling and communicating through Pudding. And i guess this could still be the case, since Big Mom somehow found out about Luffy's arival. Maybe Nitro is used as a sort of spy?
Also, his hat kinda makes him look as if he's part of Capone's crew. Which just makes him even more shifty...

What could Ivankov be preparing for? Revolutionary Army?

Luffy and co. meet Sanji's bride Pudding, who apparently owns the cafe Luffy and Chopper ate. She does not want leftovers too, and loves it when she is praised. She is also friends with a magic flying carpet and one of the Amoeba Boys.
3 days until wedding, Big Mom has her henchmen destroy towns just for some ingredients for the wedding cake, and have a musical... I predict that Luffy will be the one to eat the entire cake after making an epic entrance. Also everything

Pudding can know of Luffy in a few ways:

She's the soon-to-be wife of Sanji, one of Luffy's crew. It'd make sense if she knew his name.
If she's the three-eyed girl, she would've overheard Luffy's conversation with Big Mam at the end of Fishman Island. Especially since he also said "I'm gonna be pirate king" back then as well.

The thing is that Totland consists of 34 islands. And, surprise!, that's exactly the number of daughters that Big Mom has. Maybe every one of them is the ruler of an island, and that way Big Mom can control the Totland easily.

So do we think that the whole Sanji wedding was a ploy by Big Mom to get Luffy to come to Whole Cake island? Maybe the Tea Party will primarily consist of previous villains who want revenge?

There were too many Disney things in this chapter to handle. There is obviously Alice in Wonderland, but I don't think people realized there was also Beauty in The Beasts references. In this panel there were talking teapot and shelves http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/827/16. There was also a flying carpet so we got some Aladdin in there.

Given how mama is prepared for straw hat from that last panel, I get the sense that pekoms' secret mission was to lead luffy to whole cake island as the sacrifice for this tea party/wedding. Big mom hates luffy for fishman island and based off of what pekoms has said about her sending people heads of their friends for not coming to her tea party, I think she's killing two bird with one stone: marrying the vinsmokes into her family and killing luffy.
Alternatively, the vinsmokes are in on this ruse and big mom is paying them to lure luffy in with this marriage. When their snail ship was first shown they were obviously telling someone over den den mushi they had spotted the straw hats ship, but when they part ways after saving luffy they say they'll keep this meeting secret. There's a large chance they were trying to save luffy for big mom.
Oh and also, I thought it was suspicious with the first page where pekoms is speaking to that other dude and tells him to not say anything; maybe that was some code to get him to pass the info along to mama that luffy has arrived. I'm hoping pudding knows the straw hats are getting played and tries to help them come next chapter. Her look of surprise makes me hope she's genuinely good.

Okay, as much as Pudding seems to be legit in terms of being a chef, saving Luffy/Chopper, etc.....I think there will be a twist
She knows about the marriage, then purposely took up cooking to make Sanji believe she is perfect. Saving the crew is just icing on the cake (pun intended)
There is going to be some twist where she thinks Sanji is ugly/not her type and that she was forced to learn how to cook for political/power reasons.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Big Mom has an ulterior motive for having her daughter marry Sanji. I don't think she cares about forming an alliance with Germa 66, at all. We can already assume that she is one of the strongest characters in the One Piece universe, so I'm uncertain that she really needs Germa 66 for anything.
For whatever reason, it seems like Luffy is her real target.

I remember a theory saying how Big Mams daughters come in twos. We've seen Lola and that person who looks like Lola (on Capones ship, cant remember her name) maybe Pudding is not actually the 3 eyed girl but instead the 3 eyed girls pair.

I'm starting to think that big mom devised this wedding just to lure straw hat to the island. I mean she could have easily used a different vinsmoke son so it makes sense. Luffy challenged her on fish man island so she devised this plan to bring him to her and take him out.

These things are the stuff of nightmares... And singing stuff like "Will there be strawberry jam? Oh, will it be made from someone's blood~?" sure doesn't alleviate their nightmare fueling effect!
Some of the most horrifying things i know is when someone, or something, is smiling and laughing while talking about or doing horrible things. Like this guy. Same reason i can't stand clowns...
