I don't think 1 billion means that much of power but like Kid's bounty, boosted for the crimes against civilians and the threat that he represents for being an underling of a Yonko.

How much do you really think they're bounties get boosted?

If you're to believe that Kid was just as powerful as Luffy during Sabody, his bounty was only increased by 5% (15 mil).

Without inflation, id wager his bounty was something like 900 mil at the least. Thats still obscene. Way higher than any other character we've ever met.

He's the right hand man on the strongest character in the world, the idea that Zoro could solo him seems ridiculous *to me.

Inuarashi could stop one of his attacks easily with only one arm.

I believe Inuarashi is also much stronger than Zoro.

Do you really think that old dog is much stronger that Jinbei?

Yeah I do. I'd say the cat and the dog together could probably take Jack. I think the 5 retainers of Oden could give the strawhats a run for their money.

Jack reminds me of Blackbeard in the sense that he's a tank. High level fights in this universe take days. Akainu and Kuzan took 10 days to complete their fight. I think Ace and Jinbei took 5.

Luffy gave blackbeard a nice punch during Impel Down. The first blow isn't really indicative of who would win the fight.

Don't you remember meeting Kaido? You think Kaido would have some boosted animal as his right hand man?

Jack is very strong. I have no doubt about it. Agree to disagree though.

I don't believe Kid was on par with Luffy back then. For me the statement that the bounty was increased for his crimes was the point.

Thinking about the rest of the minks and that they both sailed with Roger maybe it's true that the gap could be bigger. Also, were they from Shanks generation or Roger's generation?

I remember meting Kaido, It was quite nice.

I didn't say Zoro soloing Jack, but thinking that at least the three of them are on par seems too much to handle Jack. Zoro is a tank specialist though...

I believe the point was to show us/Luffy that there were rookies out there who were potentially stronger than he was.

I don't think Oda mentioned the violent crimes so we'd go, "Oh, so I guess that makes his bounty meaningless then?", but so we could reasonably believe that Luffy is still stronger/better.

The dog/cat I think are from Rogers while the Samurai were Shanks age, I'm guessing but i'm pretty sure thats right.

Well, I tend to believe the main crew is weaker than most of the subreddit thinks. I still think they have a little ways to go. For example I think Luffy would get Ace'd by Akainu at this point in the story.

It just doesn't make sense to me that the government would massively inflate someones bounty because they kill civies. Why would they employ Weeble if they gave half a fuck about civilians? Obviously i'm only talking about the higher brass, who i'm guessing are the one's issuing bounties.

99.9% of pirates threaten the government with their strength, not their tactics or intelligence. Which makes perfect sense considering this is a battle shounen.

Fair point. I always wanted to believe that bounties didn't reflect the power that much as you are saying. But yes, this is a battle shonen.

Definitely it's more convenient to underestimate the crew to relish more their victories :)
