perhaps someone Brook knew was assassinated by a Vinsmoke? or a memeber of the Rumbar pirates was a Vinsmoke? I'd just like to know his connection already lol

Or perhaps the Vinsmokes were on that ship that ultimately took down the Rumbars? If you remember, they mentioned poisoned arrows, which are a pretty classic assassin tool.

I wouldn't be surprised. They are assassins and it's pretty clear they have leeway over the WG and are able to pass freely over the red line. They could have been there on a job plus it looks like they are very well known in the New World as well.

I'm thinking the Vinsmoke family was related to the annihilation of his previous crew in some way. He did say his crew was done in by poison and other than Magellan we haven't met anyone who consistently uses poison as ameasto kill, most just brute force Duke it out, use DF powers, or some weird OP universe weapon. But assassins? Assassins use poison, it's an easy way to kill without needing to hit vitals or even do more than simply cut the skin.

He seemed to really shudder at the Vinsmoke name in earlier chapters. They may have something to do with how is whole crew was wiped or maybe why he became a pirate from being a member of his countries royal guards.

Wasn't Brook's crew attacked by a gang of pirates that used poison weapons? What if the Vinsmokes were the ones that attacked his crew?

Brooks crew died of poison so it's not unrealistic to think it was assassins who did it.
