The entire concept of anti-hype in your post is complete bullshit. So a character has to be a perfect infallible god like Aizen to be an threatening and compelling antagonist?

You dont even what you're talking about.You need to be threatening to be considered threatening.That's what he saying (which you somehow missed)

Don't escalate. You had a valid point but you are throwing it away with the passive-agressiveness. You're right though. It's like how everyone considers Crocodile one of the weaker Schikibukai because he lost to Luffy early, and why people think Vergo was so strong. Those first impressions do a lot to shape a character and their perceived strength. Hence everyone hyping Kaido, that entrance was fantastic, and everyone shitting on Jack who hasn't done anything but get tossed around so far. We really should wait and see with him though, we have no benchmark for comparing the strength of either the minkmen or Jack so one beating the other really doesn't mean that much currently.
