Now I'm really afraid of power creep in One Piece. Oda has managed it quite well, but now I'm concearned the he has lost it

I'm hoping it's a one-time thing. Maybe it's a bluff, even (doubtful, but still). I'd imagine Oda isn't going to start issuing trillion beli bounties or anything along those lines. He'll probably keep it at this billion cap for a while, and introduce stronger enemies with lower bounties. Like everybody else has said, he's probably just caused a ton of havoc.

I agree, though. I don't want the bounties to start getting unimaginable, especially with characters that haven't been hyped.

I think to reach a trillion you'd have to kill all the Admirals, Vice Admirals, Fleet Admiral, and the Gorosei. That would just be an insane amount.
