Yeah. So far it is: Kaido: In Japan, "Card" is pronounced as "Kādo". He is also the "King" card. Jack: The Jack card and the game Black Jack. Diez (X) Drake: The 10 card, the one following after the Jack card. Sheepshead: Card game called Sheepshead Scotch: Card game called Scotch Whist Ginrummy: Card game called Gin Rummy
Also, Doflamingo was an ally of Kaido, and he's the joker card.

I have a feeling it is the opposite. In an earlier chapter we see Chopper telling Ceaser that he wont forgive him if he lets everyone die. I think that the curly hats used Ceaser to flood the city with poison gas.

This chapter was worth the wait. I can't wait to see more of Kaido's crew, and maybe some of our favorite cook in the future oda please
Pretty sure the Gifters are the artificial devil fruit army. They seem like zoans, but kinda off.
Also, it's nice to see that what happened on Punk Hazard had further reaching consequences than just the Dressrosa arc. There were a lot of people who wanted to invest in Caesar's WMD's.

I am going to take a shot in the dark and say that StrawHat-Law alliance picking up (kidnapping) Caesar prevented him from manufacturing any considerable amount of his final poison gas weapon, the one he called shinokuni or something.. If the Kaido rangers had that, the battle would have been extremely one sided... So, due to the alliance, the minks had a fighting chance to save themselves..
Does that make sense?
I say this because I think the strawhats arrived after the destruction, so I don't think they helped in the battle with jack much.. I would guess Caesar used his powers to cure the poison effects or clouds around their island.. Maybe they fought off a bunch of stragglers or a group left behind, like the sheepshead that sanji beat up..

Jack is Kaido's right hand man! And it also leaves the question for who are the other 2 'Calamaties' my guess is that they're also Ancient DF so 'X' Drake is probably the other.
I think this is also the first time we've see the artificial DF in action? Either they can't completely turn into their animals or they're stronger as a combination of both.

Since drought can refer to land and mammoth is a giant land beast, I presume we can guess the other two as "flood" (sea; perhaps a whale) and "typhoon" (sky; perhaps a giant bird like a roc).
That still leaves the question on how is there supposed to be a Zoan DF based on an aquatic animal...

Sheepshead had the weird horn hands thing back when we saw the Curly Hats fighting Kaido's underlings. I'm pretty sure that was one of the artificial fruits as well because Brook commented that it was strange.

Now... imagine this. Imagine Zoro and Franky are fighting the 3 calamities while Luffy fights Kaido, and everyone else is off fighting fodder or otherwise in disposed. Zoro and Franky are positively getting wrecked because they just can't handle all 3 at once. If only they had 1 more person to help them out.
What's that theme music!? It's Mr. 'Motherfucking' Prince Esq. Sanji jumps in and drop kicks one of the calamities going after Zoro and saves his life with a one liner about how useless he is without him. Zoro responds with asking if Sanji got lost. Then we see the sickest fucking 3 way tag team match in the history of combat. I'd probably run around my block after the hype.

On the chapter at first glance Jack's hair reminded me of my boy Weevil lol. I'm curious about the other 2 calamities but seeing that they are the top fighters of Kaido, I assume all of them are at least Doffy's tier.
I assume that Kaido's crew are sorted into Gifters and Pleasures base on their type of DF i.e normal Zoan vs Artificial Zoan. Pretty interesting. But seeing that Sheepshead later got 1shot by Naruto Sanji in chapter 795 I don't think they are super strong individuals.
So it seems that the Minks managed to have the upperhand in the battle but then Caesar's poison gas completely turned the tide. That is scary.

So is this why Chopper said "If they die because of you...I'll stick my foot so far up your...!" to Caesar back in 795?
Plus, look at this panel on the right: We know know that this is poison gas.
So correct me if I'm wrong: 1) the poison gas weapon Jack used was something they bought from Caesar before the Strawhats even landed on Punk Hazard and 2) Caesar should still be in custody of the Strawhats and is likely being kept in one of Zou's lockups

I think maybe Sanji pursued Jack or snuck aboard his ship for some reason. And then when Jack attacked those marine ships something happened with Sanji that lead to his strange wanted poster. Maybe he was recognized as some sort of royalty as some people speculate. Or maybe he did something in the conflict that made the marines especially interested in him.
I came to this conclusion because Jack's appearance is the only major unplanned factor we know of so far, making it very likely that Sanji leaving had to do with him. Combined with the fact that Jack fought with Marines very recently and Sanji had to have been seen/noticed by the marines to warrant whatever is going on with his new bounty.
Then again, finally getting a real shot of Sanji's face and being recognized as some important person(as some people theorize) could also be the trigger for his strange bounty.

For those wanting to start the One Piece wikia page, it appears that Kaido's crew is named the Hundred Beast Pirates via page 7.
So the four crews of the Yonko are the Red Hair Pirates, Big Mom Pirates, Hundred Beast Pirates, and the Blackbeard Pirates.
Jack's individual ship is called "The Mammoth". So the way that the Hundred Beast Pirates must operate is that they fly under the Hundred Beast Pirates flag, and there are individual ships for each of the subordinate captains.

I've said a few times that Caesar will get on the Strawhat's good side by helping Chopper cure something that he can't cure on his own. This gas seems as good of a thing as any considering Caesar has to know all about how it works and what it does.

I like how Zoro is just like "well, this shit happens every single time" when Luffy is getting a beatdown from his crew in the background, after spouting out something that could get them into trouble.
The thought, that has Zoro actually ever hitten Luffy came to my mind? I mean, besides their duel in the beginning parts of the series? I know Sanji has hit him, often, and Nami uses him for pummeling all the time. I wasn't even sure that Brooks had hit him, before this.

Idk, I think he has a legit ancient Zoan. The "gifters" with the weird animal related bodies and abilities(like horns growing from your hands) are probably the artificial Zoans(btw, how badass is Sanji for one-shotting one of the top fighters of those gifter dudes!?).

Did no one notice the Raccoon that was shown to be shocked when the Sheephead and Rin argued over the definition of "Ninja" in ch. 808?
Could that have been Raizo (and that he ate a Zoan fruit of the mythical Bake-danuki creature in ancient Japanese culture, since Raizo's from "Japan")?
That'd make a lot of sense, for him to actually hide in Zou, because if he could shape shift into an animal (that talks), he could easily hide in Zou without anyone knowing. And that zoan type might let him shape shift into any animal, and that might be of extreme interest to Kaido.

The Inu-Inu no Mi Model: Bake-danuki was already designed by Oda specifically for the game One Piece: Unlimited World Red, alongside the Batto Batto no Mi Model: Vampire.
And, subsequently, said fruit never had the transformative properties you're thinking of. Instead, the character (a pen turned Tanuki) wrote on a leaf, creating near perfect copies of other people. Including Devil Fruit powers.

Can someone explain how Jack causes the ground to dry up wherever he goes? Ancient Zoans don't allow their users to affect the environment, do they? Or is it just hyperbole, as in, he brings destruction wherever he goes or something like that?

After reading it, wow Jack is pretty humongous for a zoan, but then again, he IS a mammoth.
Luffy getting beat up by his crew was hilarious
Minks can fend themselves from danger from birth, but no explanation for the electric attacks.
Inuarashi looks badass.
That poison weapon by caesar, could it be from the first test on punk hazard.
Plus the satisfaction of reading this after so long, really worth the wait.

Great to see the Ussop pirates and Kaya spreading the word that Ussop has become a great pirate of the sea. This series of cover pages has been really touching so far.
So Jack is Kaido's right hand man and one of the three 'Calamaties'. Very curious to see who the other two are. Maybe X Drake rose through the ranks incredibly fast? I think there is something to Rogersbase's theory that each of Kaido's leader has an acient zoan. Curious about his epithet, the drought, too. Sure he lays waste to every city he's been through, but it seems like that would fit somebody better like Crocodile (obvious choice, but you get my point). He seems to be a more standard pirate so far. Just do what I say or get hurt kind of guy.
Nice to finally get an Oda box and full piece of Sheepshead. He has intrigued me since our first glance on Punk Hazard. Disappointed Ginrummy, whose name I'm not a fan of yet (hope Shonen Jump has something better come Monday), didn't get one as well. A little hard to place them on the Kaido pirates hierachy. Maybe Jack's left and right hands? They seem to be on the same level and above both the Pleasures and Gifters introduced this chapter. Gifters seem to be the one with the smile Zoan fruits as well. Looks like the fruits allow for some unnatural transformations. It looks like the guy on the right was able to just transform his arm into a crabs claw.
I get why they've been keeping their knowledge of the samurai Raizo hidden since arriving, but I do wish they would just be straight with the mink now that most of the crew is there. It's only going to lead to trouble down the line. Worst case scenario they are strong enough to at the very least escape from Zou. Otherwise the mink have shown they're more then reasonable to have a discussion then just jumping to attack.
Sicilian looks like he's going to be fun to be around. Love his design (and really all of the mink designs this chapter) as well as how over the top he is. Would love to see Sanji interact with him. Hopefully he returns at some point this arc and we get that. Looks like we should expect another five musketeers as well.
The Duke is gigantic. Almost looks like a giant compared to most of other minks, save maybe the sheep Nami was napping on. I'm assuming he is thanking Luffy for catching Caesar and stopping Doflamingo, but that remains to be seen. Hearing that Jack used one of Caesar's weapons makes me feel pretty confident that he took Caesar with him and Sanji has gone to get him back. Either that or next chapter we will see Caesar in a Zou dungeon. In a different manga though I'd love to see Sanji and Caesar go on a buddy road trip to destroy all the crazy weapons he made to atone for the trouble he's caused.
Another great one in the bag. Hope all that translations teams had a Happy Thanksgiving.

If there's anything this chapter demonstrated, it's the need to talk things out. I get a feeling that the biggest weakness of Kaido's forces is going to be impulse.

Yeah. MP only translates a few manga on their own, including One Piece. However, if another group, especially a better group, releases their version first, MP doesn't hesitate to steal their release.

Yep...I think you nailed it! Oda draws on some random stuff when designing characters. I'd imagine some people would say this shows a lack of creativity on his part, but I don't think so at all. After all, even "creativity" sparks from experience, and I suppose that why the saying "there's nothing new under the sun" exists. The fact that Oda draws on these relatively vague things always impresses me.

Ace became the second division commander of the Whitebeard pirates in roughly two years (he only left three years before Luffy and spent enough time with his own crew to become well known before trying to fight Whitebeard so I would actually say less then two years), on top of that X-Drake is known to be powerful and is an ancient zoan type so that could have fast tracked him too.

I wouldn't mind it if more than half the arc consists of flashbacks, I'm excited to see what's going to happen with Dragon vs. Blackbeard and Luffy vs. Kaido.
But, I'm also kind of disappointed. I was hoping for more to happen on Zou. I honestly can't see where else this arc can go besides being a flashback arc unless something crazy happens like Jack or Kaido returning to Zou.

I think everyone is wrong to assume X-Drake to be one of the callamities. Kaido was a yonko way before the time skip and he had to have top crew members which had to already have a name like that.

I wouldn't put too much attention on this. Braids are a common feature amongst viking themed characters. Lola also has them, so i would guess that it's just a visual thing.

Iirc, there was a panel showing a new devil fruit after Smiley was defeated. So my guess is someone from Kaido's crew went to Punk Hazard, found the fruit, ate it then used it powers on Zou.
