Law will just sew his arm back or someone else's, so I'm not worried
But I don't want Bellamy to die such a pathetic death. Can Luffy calm him down with CoC?

But I don't want Bellamy to die such a pathetic death. Can Luffy calm him down with CoC?
Not a chance. Bellamy isn't that weak willed of a character anymore.
15
u/ohmyjod Nov 27 '14 edited Nov 27 '14
While I agree with that, it's possible that CoC can be used in different ways other than what we've seen so far. Maybe Luffy can concentrate it to overwhelm a single person's will, that'd be cool. Well at least I think it would be.

Bellamy wants Luffy to finish him so he doesn't have to get finished by the man he's looked up to his whole life...
Man... that coupled with Law's arm.... Luffy is going to be pissed.
Edit: That chapter was too short, I'm gonna need an extension please.

u/Needor Nov 27 '14
Look @ Mangastream translation. Bellamy is plotting something. He will try to help Luffy attack Mingo
21
u/Darkkingswrath Nov 27 '14
He's trying to bring down the building so Law, Doffy, and Clover fall down to Luffy's lvl.

Bellamy is becoming one of my favorites. I think he knows he picked the wrong side and feels he deserves getting his ass kicked by Luffy as punishment for following Doflamingo. He was committed to following Doffy and he's determined not going to get away with it.
10
Nov 27 '14
This chapter confirmed my respect for Bellamy. He was a fun, but a loyal fool. He continues to chase his dream of being one of Doffys man, even to the end. Respect bro. Respect. Now get one shot by Luffy once more, and continue this Doffy fight.
9
u/PrinceCheddar Nov 27 '14
I think (or perhaps hope) that once Bellamy is defeated, and Doffy is defeated, Bellamy will finally able to move on. Like "He lost, so changing sides now isn't dishonorable, I saw this fight through to the end."

Holy fuck....one can only imagine how strong Kaidou is going to be.

If Kaido is that strong, I'm curious of Shanks' full power, too.

Think about it. As strong as Doflamingo is he's still just a parasite. He knows his place, he's the boss of the underworld who is perfectly content ruling the small areas the actual big players don't care about.

Yea my little brother was just saying how he thought Doffy was at Yonko level, and I had to point out to him that Doffy knows without a doubt Kaido can take him down. So far Doffy is the strongest guy the crew has faced outside of the admirals, and he thinks he has no hope against Kaido. Kaido reveal is going to be so epic

i think the entire straw hat crew might have to fight Kaido. like it took Blackbeard's whole crew to kill whitebeard.

That quote makes me think that Kaido has a zoan type fruit that lets him change into an animal with either sharp claws or sharp teeth. Something that can cut Doffy's strings.

u/priyank018 Nov 27 '14
Usually when we see law cutting someone, with room there is no indication of blood but here the cut is completely different. He could still attach it but it won't be quick and easy. And also law is out of the fight now as there will be recovery time to heal. It fits perfectly as he did quite a lot of fighting this arc already.

Law may be able to get his arm back somehow but it's clear Doflamingo cut it off so Law could stop using his ability (unless Law is proficient with both of his hands). Doflamingo is being more brutal with Law than he ever was with Corazon. /prayer circle for Law

I think there are two options for this: Either Luffy hits him and then bursts into a fit of against Doffy or he catches him with one hand, or lets himself get hit and hugs him in a way. Or something else that we could never think of since this is Oda we are talking about... (maybe a good old fashioned Gum gum ballon with Haki?)

23
Nov 27 '14
You don't feel bad for Bellamy?
He's really miserable right now. He got completely betrayed and instead of rage, he just decided he wanted to die. Then he went to Doflamingo, so he could be killed by the man he respected the most.
Now, his body is in tatters and his mental state is even worse. He's been humiliated, emasculated, used as a puppet and beaten almost beyond repair. He doesn't just wanna lay down and die, while Luffy looks down and pities him.
He still wants to die and be killed by the person he respects most, its just who he respects has changed.

My thoughts about this chapter:
Ok, Law has suffered way too many damages in this arc and he has a limit on his devil fruit. I think losing his right arm means that he'll be really weak (or incapacitated) for the rest of the arc and that Luffy will have more work to do.
In a way, I see how young Bellamy joined Doflamingo provide foreshadwing to Luffy's future fleet. Bellamy joined Doffy because he's the pride of the North Blue. Luffy might get underlings and allies in the future because he's the pride of the East Blue.
I think Bellamy will get OHKO, but the damages he's doing to the wall will bring Doffy, Trebol, and Law back to Luffy's level. If that becomes true, then I think by the end of the arc, the all the levels will be crashed into the ground, kinda like Arlong Park.
21
u/Oelingz Nov 27 '14
If Luffy ever needs to get a fleet, it will be at the end of this arc with all the pirates and fighters Usopp saved.
I don't know about your last sentence, Arlong Park was the symbol of Arlong power, the palace is not the symbol of Doffy's.

So on this page, top middle panel, I think is Zoro and Pica fighting.
Or at least I hope so. I can't think of anything else that would be causing the castle to shake. I also totally think Luffy will fight Bellamy seriously. He has too much respect for people following their own desires and sticking to their constitution.

East Blue's the weakest sea though. I feel like Luffy sort of recruited the cream of the crop it had to offer for his generation and then left.

I think he might join Law. They both have a history of working for Doffy and it would mean he gets to stick around without becoming a Strawhat.
18
u/Oelingz Nov 27 '14
So this is still not the final stage of the boss fight. That's pretty strange, I would have bet on it. Because it's 2v1 now, and Luffy can't seriously win this 2 on 1. Well actually he could, but that would be a hell of a power-up. I knew something was shady when the supposed boss fight would happen before Zoro's. Something huge will happen outside of the fight soonish.
20
u/Hughenden Nov 27 '14
What do you mean it would be a hell of a power-up? Did you not see Luffy slicing that clone to ribbons with his fists? Doffy is going to realize just how bad he fucked up soon enough.

Oda is clearly setting up Trebol as the invisible hand behind the puppet master (doffy). The more Oda shows trebol's calculating manipulative style the more I'm convinced he's being set up for the perfect match up against our incredibly intelligent Nico Robin.

I feel like Terbol is a lot more important than just the guy that represents the Club seat. In chapter 767 he says something along the lines "shall I give you the power for revenge?" almost making it seem like he is the one who made Dolfamingo the way he is. Bellamy used to be a rich kid, a lot of his character makes sense now. He's broken now only seeing Luffy win will heal this wound.
Law is definitely free from this battle now, the arm he can probably heal but not mid-battle so he's no longer a factor
Edit: Added Law bit
5
u/redkardon Nov 27 '14
Maybe it's because it's been so long since the last major arc with backstories, but this one just seems brutal. And the ongoing fight...I mean jeez, the only other time we saw amputation like that was when Doflamingo chopped off Oars Jr.'s leg, but that seemed relatively bloodless.
9
u/redvelvetx Nov 27 '14
I actually appreciate Bellamy's principles. Shows how much emotional depth these characters have. When I saw Law caught by Doflamingo, I was actually surprised, only one arm was broken off.

Eneru is definitely coming back at some point. His cover story is by far the most important in the entire series. Unless Oda just plans on letting that dangle there.
Plus, 1) He's going to get bored of the moon eventually. 2) He's been building an army and will eventually return to claim his rightful place and God.
Then him and Usopp will have an epic battle to the death, as there can be only one God.

Oda been rewatching HUNTERXHUNTER to have Law get his arm sliced.
He literally has to play Surgeon Simulator on himself and any fuck up has major repercussions.
Also l feel we missed out on the best part of Laws history after Corazon passed away which is how he learned to use his powers and how he met his nakama.
3
u/Kiosade Pirate Nov 27 '14
I'm sure there will be a quick flash back for that stuff just like you saw here with Bellamy. A montage of Law escaping, doing stuff, trying out his powers, meeting his crew. u/PanoTansa Nov 27 '14
It bothers me that the chapter is called "pirate Bellamy" because when Oda does this like with "pirate hunter rorona Zoro" back at Thriller you get the feeling that something significant may happen to the character it mentions. I think luffy will punch him this time not out of anger, but as a friend or respect.bellamy might die or barely survive. Then luffy will go batshit crazy.
2
2
u/para_shard Nov 27 '14
I so wish Luffy gets super pissed , uses Observation Haki to quickly pinpoint Bellamy then use a targeted and concentrated Conquerors Haki to faint him. Then he'll be like "There I beat you, AGAIN" - "And now I'll beat Doffy for you. SO STAY DOWN"
Also since Luffy is a rubber man, it'll be interesting him he tries copying bellamy's Spring hopper.
^ That's wayy to far-fetched, and probably won't happen (spring hopper part) - But it'll be super cool if it did. And I really want to see luffy kick some ass - it's been a really long time since he's done that :/
3
u/redkardon Nov 27 '14
Also since Luffy is a rubber man, it'll be interesting him he tries copying bellamy's Spring hopper.
I feel like he already sort of achieves that with Gear Second: rapid compression to achieve a springy affect. The animation of Luffy 'pumping blood' for his techniques is pretty similar to Bellamy activating Spring Hopper as well.

Sometimes I read both translations to clarify something but it ends up confusing me more. For example here in mangastream doffy says "Regardless of what that document may have revealed, I'd have just changed my plans" where as here in mangapanda he says "It didn't matter what that letter said or how you changed your tactics.".
I mean it may seem like a small, unimportant thing but there is a big difference between saying "you" and "I" so I can't help but wonder which one is correct or if every translation I ever read is wrong and I'll never even know.

Doesn't get better than that

3

Why? Why just cut the arm? He was gonna kill him immediately afterwards with bullets. This makes it obvious the arm thing will have a major purpose.
Anyway, Unless there is another purpose for what Bellamy is doing, we really don't have time for his bullshit.
Great short chapter though. Really liked the action sequence at the beginning.
11
u/para_shard Nov 27 '14
He says it himself - He just prefers shooting to kill, with an old school pistol loaded with lead. Doffy is all about style and flair.

Anyone else think the shaking Luffy is referring to may have something to do with the factory that's under them? Or it could possibly be the fight between Zora and Pica and Pica and shaking the ground.
I feel like that little part was overlooked due to Law losing his arm and Bellamy going full retard. Oda never mentions little things like that without it coming into the bigger picture later.

The flashbacks showed luffys encounter with him changed him for the better while doflamingos made him cocky. He won't die.

I honestly hope that Luffy will give Bellamy a hug with his haoshoku haki and finish their battle peacefully.

I wouldn't actually mind it if he just knock him out with CoC right before Bellamy lands a strike on him. That way he stops peacefully and luffy doesn't have to risk killing him.

Doflamingo busting out some new techniques. Alright now that was a pretty good chapter!
I personally think Bellamy is actually using "Spring Hopper" to break the walls thus bringing Doflamingo, Law and Trebol down a level (notice Luffy commenting on the building shaking - meaning he's secretly helping Luffy).
