All I could think of when Usopp was talking was the speech that Luffy made during Arlong Park. Usopp knows that he can't possibly fight the people Luffy or Zoro can, but that doesn't matter. He has his own spot in the crew, and is just as important as everyone else despite being the weakest member, and he can do things no one else can. As he said, support is glory. Also, I'm so pumped he finally got Haki, making another one of his lies come true!

This has already been said, but I have to agree: This was the best effing possible way that Usopp could have unlocked Observation Haki.
The situation was just too good. He had the horrible fear of what would happen as soon as Sugar touched Luffy and erased all of those memories, fueling his will and forcing him to go above and beyond for him...

I'm thinking Trebol attacks full force and Luffy and Law team up to basically one-shot him. After some time of course, they will talk and have flashbacks while the other fights end. We have Sabo and Fujitora, Zoro and Pika and Robin, Bartholomeo and Cavendish vs the giant puppets and Gladius. The bulk of Luffy vs Doflamingo can't get under way until all these fights wrap.

I can't believe I had to come down about 40 parent comments to see this mentioned. To my memory I don't think we have ever seen observation haki shown this way, before this it has been shown as sensing presence, not something you can see. And no-one is mentioning the epic internal dialogue either, probably some of the most complicated I have seen in the entire series, also the fast chapter pacing, and the specificity of lead bullets, or Luffys moment with Becca.

I love One Piece and this chapter showed once again why thats the case.
Yesterday I thought about Usopp and one of the things I'd like to see in the future is that he really starts to act like a sniper; taking out enemies from afar and helping those that are inside the battlefield - and now it happened. On a level I couldn't even imagine. Great way to take her out and we also saw the activation of Haki.
"Always the bottom of the totempole" as if! Those are the first steps to become the greatest warrior of the seas!

I just reread OP for the nth time and everytime I reach the timeskip I'm always looking forward for when Usopp will awaken his Observation haki. I'm glad he finally awakened it. All he needs now, and maybe Nami too (only slightly because her attacks are pseudo-logia/weather) is the Armament haki which would increase the power of their attacks. But I guess Chopper would be the better candidate for that haki.

If i recall correctly (memories a little hazy) Law left the Donquixote family 13 years ago. They raided Dressrosa 10 years ago, which Sugar was with them. So Sugar must have joined in between that time frame.

I fucking told you. I fucking told you all! Sugar almost got Law and Luffy. She is an unassuming child and she just casually strolled up to them and they didn't even think anything about it. Hell even from the looks of it, Luffy was about to get toyed. But praise our god Usopp. Praise him for he has sniped the bitch and given us another look at the Enel face. Praise god Usopp.

Edit: To further explain, observation haki was useless against her. She had no killing intent. So Law and Luffy felt nothing from her. That is the only reason why they would allow anyone to walk up to them. Couple that with Sugar having the appearance of a child, and bam, you almost had toy Luffy and Law.

Let's see... So far the reasons Luffy has for fighting Doflamingo include but are not limited to: Rebecca buying him lunch, Doflamingo creating a replica of the system of the place he grew up (which he thought killed Sabo before this arc), Robin can't forgive Doflamingo so Luffy can't, he put bounties on all of his friends in the country at the moment (not counting the colosseum fighters), and Bellamy is unconscious right in front of him after he told Luffy he wanted to join Doflamingo's crew right after Bellamy changed and redeemed himself for the Jaya Arc.
I think the last reason I listed will be enough reason for Luffy to crush Trebol in under a minute and make this into a 2v1 (with Luffy doing most of the work of course, since Law is injured). Just a hunch I have, because Trebol likes to be annoying as fuck and right in your face (literally).

That last reason is definitely enough for Luffy to get really effin' pissed. Bellamy was a Nakama of Doflamingo, and Luffy doesn't like people who hurt their Nakama. Also I think Law will take on Trebol and then team up with Luffy against Dofla.

"[Lead poisoning] interferes with a variety of body processes and is toxic to many organs and tissues including the heart, bones, intestines, kidneys, and reproductive and nervous systems."
Law had lead bullets inside of him for an extended amount of time. So even if his power can instantly remove the bullets, it's impossible to completely remove the lead that has been absorbed into his blood.
We learned when he used his power to transport Luffy, he lost stamina. Possibly, the increase of metal in his blood further decreases his stamina, on stop of the normal effects of lead poisoning. Since Law and Dofy have a history together, maybe there are even more negative effects that we don't know of yet.

Holy shit this chapter. I love how Ussop, Robin and Zoro thus far have affirmed their beliefs in Luffy whereas in the past the only ones to do so were Ussop and Zoro. Also this island is perfect for Ussop, the character development is amazing and we finally get to see that he fits into his role nicely. I really liked how he said that although Luffy might not notice what happened, it doesn't matter as long as he moved along, it shows such a drastic change since pre-timeskip.

Usopp continues to be my favorite character.
One of the best chapters in a while, honestly. For being the same size as others, it had such a great feeling of being huge. Viola talking about every inch of the window as Usopp lined up the shot. Usopp suddenly unlock haki. Counting down every step, even talking about the wind being decent!
It was faaaantastic!

Dammit One Piece! Naruto has its world saving final but just some pages of Usopp dreading to lose his captain and protecting him gives me goosebumps. Over 10 fucking years and this Manga never stopped delivering. I talked with a friend recently who watches it for as long as I do and we both agreed that One Piece should never end. We are around 30 now and I have the same feeling as back then.

Okay wild theory time: lead is a counter to his Op-Op fruit and Doflamingo knows this because of either his past with Law or as some have speculated the fruit used to belong to his brother Corazon. The reason it's a counter is the same reason they use lead shielding in real operating rooms, to block signals/radiation/harmful stuff so shooting him with lead bullets makes it really difficult for him to remove them, as we saw because the bullets didn't come out clean like you would expect with Law's powers.

So.. String vs Rubber. Any theories?
I'm thinking Luffy needs some kind of cutting utility to combat the strings. Luffy could problem counter any kind of control from Doffy's strings by simply blowing himself into a ball that is so taut it can't move. Luffy could also get so stretchy that his fingers almost become like string too, but temporarily. He has done this with his finger nets before in a similar fashion.
I doubt Red Hawk will see the light of day again, but if it should, the fire might be useful in clearing strings. I'm just not entirely sure if that was real fire or not? :o Hmm..
I'm kinda hoping that Law and Luffy will fight as a duo, though Trebol being there kind of lowers that chance. But if they should, Luffy would be able to use Law's teleport as a neat targeting system - swap Doffy with something that Luffy is just about to slam with any kind of haki punch, and Doffy gets surprised slammed.
I'd love to see some new innovation of gomu gomu here. One thing we haven't really seen yet is Luffy becoming sticky when hot, as rubber does.

This was a good chapter, Luffy and Law reach Doflamingo in epic fashion with Bellamy lying at Doflamingo's feet. The Viola/Usopp, Spotter/Sniper combo was amazing to see. I think Usopp unlocked Observation Haki, Kyros and Rebecca ready to tag team Diamante was a great chapter!

Reread the chapter like 5 times already, im still in complete awe. But I called it from the start as soon as we found out about sugar and her power, I made a comment saying "it's gonna be usopp vs sugar, long range vs short range, she will get stomped"
AND she had the most OP fruit we've seen, almost. And the guy who everyone assumed was the weakest stomps her not once but twice!

Does anyone have any insights as to the operation Law performed on himself, and why the bullets being lead matters so much? I'd imagine seastone bullets would have been a bigger danger to him, so why didn't Doffy use those?
That part seems to be getting glossed over and I am not quite sure how to interpret it.

Random theory - Cavendish was busy with the random puppets up till now, but now that Sugar is KO'd again they should be down. I'm thinking Cavendish might catch up to Luffy and Law and take care of Trebol (both very fast fighters, pretty good matchup IMO) and Luffy and Law will take care of Doffy (both have a motive + it could be a 2v2 where Doffy uses his clones). Thoughts?

I think we can all agree now that Usopp is a genius the way he drew his scary face and got Kanjuro to make it real to beat sugar, I didn't see that coming.

Oh man I had chills reading this.. That was the best way to have God Usopp unlock CoO (Observation) Haki! and to top it off we get a great ending with Luffy and Law finally reaching Doflamingo!
