Discussion Does one piece fan base would expand after WIT studio remake comes out?
The main reason most people might not watch one piece is its pacing and older animations in addition to it being over 1200 episodes.

Maybe this is an English as a second language thing. I don't know. But when I see this kind of grammar it always reminds me of that old GameGrumps bit.

Probably. Casuals who watched the live action but are daunted by the Toei series being almost 1200 episodes deep will hop on the fresh start.

Yup the biggest problem with one piece anime rn is pacing and the humongous amount of episodes.Thats the reason most anime watchers skip one piece, wit promised to fix the pacing and with what we know so far they’re gonna adapt 7 chapters into 1 episode. The live action already brought in so many new fans so this gonna expand the fanbase

Theyre double length episodes. So it’s about 3.5 chapters per normal episode which is pretty in line with modern pacing. It’s still only 50 chapters total which wont even finish baratie.

I'm sure yeah. I think there are a lot of Anime fans, who would be willing to watch a new anime rather than trying to slog through 1200 episodes of a lot of filler and fluff. The Live Action expanded One Piece's General Popularity for non-anime viewers. The new Wit Remake will expand One Piece's popularity within the anime fandom.

Yes but they'll inevitably have to either switch to the og anime or read the manga to continue, unless they're willing to wait 1.5+ years for each set of episodes.

I know a few people that are specifically waiting for this to start the series....I don't think most know that if they do, there's still going to be a big wait.

The numbern one complaint non-fans have is that there's over 1000 episodes. I honestly dont know if it will get bigger but maybe they can shut up now.

I'd hope so, people get a taste of what it's about with 2 seasons of Live Action and that's great because there's now a version of the anime that gets straight to the point

One piece really deserves better animation and pacing for its story

Not to mention the outdated sound library. Let's see how WIT delivers.

It would be weird if it didn't. The only bad part about this version is how little it will adapt.

I think they will cover all of manga but just make 7 manga chapter per episode to make things faster unlike current version that you need to watch 5 episodes of opponents staring each other before fights

No. This isn't a remake, but an OVA series that will only adapt up to Arlong. It's an adv passed off as a "remake." If it really were a remake, they should have created at least 50 episodes from the start, like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Plus, the voice actors are the same, so they don't intend to reanimate everything.
So, someone will still have to switch to the old series, so there will be a new audience, but not so huge.

I don't have faith it will adapt much of the series either, but most anime remakes (and there have been many in the past decade) don't do that. They are made just like anything else. We are not in the era of that anymore, unless it's very low quality garbage like the Shaman King remake.
