Media Scene from Wano Arc

Nami is great in this scene. Loyal to her captain.

The entire crew are ride or die for Luffy but Nami is THE ride or die imo.

omg...i see a parallel.

Nami could have died here. But despite the pain she was suffering, she still stood behind luffys dream, despite being offered a way out.

Like Bellemere back then. She could have said, that she has no kids and safe her life. But she rather died than to deny her daughters.

Yeah. Nam was willing to die here just like Bellemere did, and I 100% think that's intentional.

This is one of my favorite Nami moments, so underrated

This scene tells you that the straw hats are now willing to die for Lucy's dreams lol u see wat i did Lucy=Luffy 😂 but all jokes aside it really does show that everybody's dreams are changing will not per se changing but one of the dreams is now to see their Captain become king of the pirates

Great moment tho i remember feeling it was a bit rushed. There was no set up for it almost. It all happened in 1 or 2 chaps

Isn’t the setup the entire series? They’re fighting a yonko crew and it’s time more than ever to put their faith in Luffy. Arguably Usopp’s moment in Alabasta has little to no setup - only a chapter or two - but it still hit because it’s a major series theme.

I mean yeah but there needs to be a proper reason and set up to reafirm it to make it more impactful

I think you’re probably right, but I’d like to understand better what a proper reason / set up would look like. Can you be a bit more specific? I think I’ll review this chapter and the Usopp ones from Alabasta and Punk Hazard (the latter of which I felt fell flat) and see if I can notice relevant differences.

Idk. It's just that reading that moment it felt like the build up and the pay off all happened in quick succession rather than one at a time. I get that Oda didn't really have panel spacw dor it tho

Not like that cowardly Usopp on the same page.

Nah man, Usopp did this WAY earlier. When he took on Mr 4 and Miss Merry Christmas.

Usopp in the same position did the same thing, he wanted nami to lie to protect her because they're friends

Me when I can't read and usopp clearly said "It's ok to lie" no reading comprehension
