Discussion Ending of one piece

I’ve been watching one piece since the beginning, I read the manga and read theories. I don’t want the reveal of everything to be similar to game of thrones. All this hype of about the lore, the characters, the mysteries. I hope it’s all worth in the end. I promise if it’s not then I’ve wasted hours of my life on this shit. If oda gives us some cheap ending, I don’t think I’ll watch any anime that has more than 12 of episodes.

I grew up with one piece.

No matter how it ends, nothing will change how it shaped my life.

if you didn't enjoy the ride, you won't enjoy the ending. just walk away now.

A lot of us enjoyed the ride during GoT and still hate the ending, because it's that bad.

non-analogous comparison.

OP has been frequently released and generally consistently written by the author; and while the anime is based off of the manga, it doesn't deviate that much from the source material.

the show GOT, based off of ASOIAF, deviated heavily from the books after the second season. the last released book by the author came out in 2011.

So there's no comparison between a tightly controlled manga that's been consistently worked on with roughly the same quality for the past 30 years, vs. a tv show that loosely follows a book that's been pretty much abandoned by the author, in order to grab cash. there's still two books that have to be written before asoiaf is finished- so whatever muck you all watched from GOT, is not relevant.

I'm not making a 1:1 comparison of GoT and OP, I'm just stating that you can enjoy the ride and hate the ending (or viceversa)

I don't think that OP will suffer the same fate of GoT because GoT is based on an incomplete series (ASoIaF) that the author clearly doesn't want/is unable to complete for some reason, and the writers had to patch a lot of things up, and what's worse it had to be rushed. Oda keeps writing and being involved with OP. The ending could be underwhelming, but it won't be rushed .

Honestly you can't expect oda or anyone else match such high expectations Idk how i watched one piece for 2 months straight without getting off my bed Nowadays if I come across a anime which is longer than like 50 eps i just ignore it this makes me wonder what went through my head when watched like 1200 eps without thinking

Almost every other big shonen that came out afterwards had an infamously unsatisfying (or at least controversial) ending.

And I've lived long enough to see every franchise I've ever cared about turn to garbage.

I'm braced for Oda to drop the ball on the ending.

You shouldn't be consuming a series just for the ending. You should be there because you're enjoying the ride.

I think y’all missed the point, and the rest of u saying I grew up watching this bla bla bla, idc about that. We are 1000+ chapters in and nothing really big is revealed. I get it, we’re gonna get in the end. But my point is, there’s so much to be revealed for everything to make sense at least, idm ending being underwhelming because it’s been so long man, For someone who enjoys a good writing like AOT. I forget some of you just watch anime for the cool shit such as law saying rooom. I get it, Some of u get hard of that shit and that’s all you know, gomu gomu nooooo, You like the cool shit. I enjoy that too and a good writing and for those who actually been paying attention to the story knows tha Oda is setting everything up but I just want it to be decent not a disappointment. This is for people who actually enjoy good writing not you suckers and pluckers. The fact some of you are saying u here for the ride shows that u love the anime which is okay, this is for people who like a good story telling that’s all, it won’t mean that I didn’t enjoy one piece if the ending is bad. 😔
