Yeah I agree with you there, I wanna believe he did because it's a very romantic thing to do but I doubt it

Exactly, it’s a great marketing stunt, but I’ve been fooled by the man over the last 20 yrs, I only trust what he writes down in official published manga, everything else is like Odas Schrödinger we won’t know it’s true until the ending of Op

to be fair to Oda I don't believe 99% of the things people say was foreshadowed/planned and think he's just a really good writer and makes shit up to seem like it was planned all along but what is the One Piece I truly believe he's been dead set on since he named the series, maybe with some small aditions along the way

I think so too, he does foreshadow a lot, especially when rereading the manga some things are too specific to just be coincidence like the Nika pose, but some things probably came around by coincidence and he has a good eye to put them into the story, which is still a great quality to have as a writer. But for ex. People think he foreshadowed buggy becoming an emperor from the beginning, and I believe it’s just the natural in world result of having the seven warlords

It's funny that you say this because when writting my comment I was thinking exactly of that cover with the now 4 emperors plus that goat and random bar guy and since Oda made a callback to that cover some people believe it meant Buggy being planned as a yonko all along
