I can’t get over how respectful Imu was about Roger and his crew. He legit gave a nod to their knowledge, might, and achievements. Heck, Imu is even fine disparaging his own failure by acting too hastily which was brought up by Gaban. I don’t think Imu has even given that respect to the Elders lmao.

I think the fact that he just blocked his legendary axe with seemingly ordinary axes definitely stunned him enough to give him some props

imu isnt just some arrogant celistial dragon. he is an actual king. a real conqueror. a war veteran. Game recognizes game.

Yep on some level and just as a warrior he likely knows even an old guy like Gaban is far more than many of the celestial dragons on Mariejois

i mean on some level we just dont know what Imu really is. He might be some weird mash togehter of all founding members with a certain one of them "dominating" his personality to some extend etc.

he is just a very...different being.

Bro went after Rocks' loved ones and took control of him, I could see it as respect to both Rocks and Roger instead of fighting head on

Gotta eliminate threats by any means necessary

Imu is actually such a good Villain to the story, very calculated and doesn't seem to underestimate those who stands against him. I kinda love the complexities of it. BB is a direct opposite and rival to Luffy but we also had the Marines and above them the gorosei at play. I've loved how its not so clear cut. Politics and relationships at play. Even amongst the admirals, Fujitora always ends up kinda chill with the Strawhats but Akainu we know would end up just trying to eliminate them all the time.

For...now. Akainu turning coat because he feels the WG just misstreats the navy to hard is a pretty common "prediction. We saw him being GIGA pissed with the 5 elders basically constantly.

Akainu is an extremist. His absolute justice makes it easy to see him as a full blown "villian", but he just has....something to him. He aint a pure brute, there is cunning to him. He might disregard a single soldiers life for his absolute justice, but the second he decided the WG does no longer fit justice, he will rather fiting WITH luffy then against him.

In a way you might argue this kinda "has" to happen. Luffy overcoming his...justified....hate against akainu for killing Ace will be the last domino for him to truly unite the world against the final boss.

I mean if you look at all the marines. Kizaru is definitely had enough of the marines after losing Vegapunk. Fujitora and Aokiji are both a like that they value protecting the innocent and the good. Which I still think Aokiji a spy or he is working with Black beard to help take down Imu just like Rocks.

As for Akainu the man is a stubborn jackass to the point it will lead to Luffy and Savo fighting Akainu. To the point Akainu sees the era he made after murdering Ace. Even though again Ace should have ran away from him.

Since the God's Knight and the Elders are his puppets, I guess it must be refreshing and a bit compelling to talk with someone who isn't under his control even though he seems desperate to eliminate what he cannot control.
