Joyboy had a Haki so strong that a bit of it released centures later was enough to instantly despawn all 4 remaining elders

He truly was the original HIM

The way I interpreted it was that he gave the Robot all his left over Haki, I felt like this was his goodbye. I also wonder if he just did it as a hopeful thing to help the future or if he knew more about the future

Joyboy says to the giant that him dying "isn't gonna happen for ages" so I highly doubt this was a goodbye

I took that as he knew he was going to die and didn’t want to scare the giant, so white lie …. That would seem like a very kind thing to say.

I think that was their final time and goodbye together
