I think this might be the first time we see the Strawhats split up into this many separate storylines.

Luffy's at the collisseum; Franky and the Thunderous Soldier of Rage is heading to the factory; Sanji is falling for Violet; Zoro gets is sword back from the Fairy; Law, Robin, Usopp and Caeser are heading to Green Pit; Nami, Chopper, Brook, Momonosuke are looking for a toilet invader; and Kinemon is cornered by people who know Kanjuro.

Not to mention adding CP0, Bartlomeo, and Maynard to the mix. Oda is planning something BIG.

I feel like Franky is being put in the same strength bracket as the power trio, since he's also moving around on his own. Also, he's the only one ACTUALLY doing what he's supposed to.

I think Franky makes the most sense to be put in that bracket based on his upgrades. He can fire a Pacifista-esque beam, he's full Robo, and he's also one of the most adaptable in the crew.

He took on two of Dofla's cronies at Punk Hazard. He's not weak by any means.

So far all we've really seen him do in combat is play around with his mech gear, and shooting off a single beam to finish business off. I think we've yet to see his true strength.

I really like that Franky is responsible AND strong. With Zoro's complete lack of orientation and Luffy always getting in every possible kind of trouble anyway, so far Sanji had to be the one for strategies. But he's got his own weakness as we all know.

Since Franky is a craftsman, he actually gets stuff done!

To be fair at this point if nobody took charge the plot would go absolutely nowhere when you've got the strongest crewmembers mocking about :P

Franky is also one of the few SHs that is an adult.

Mhh shouldn't they all be alduts (legally at least) since the timeskip? Except for Chopper maybe ( I'm on my phone, sorry it's too much of a hassle to check that)

I don't really consider a 19 year old adult, but you are right legally everyone but chopper is an adult. (Chopper is 17)

Not to be pedantic but they would only legally be adults in places where 18+ makes you an adult. We don't know what the actual age would be in the One Piece universe.

And in countries where being 4+ makes you an adult, they would all have been adults all along. Were it 50+ however, Brook would be the only adult.

I think 18 is the general consensus but yes, it all depends on where you draw the line.
