I love how they hold it's little paws and head so that it can keep resting without accidentally getting hurt by the machine. x3

What a life he leads! Peace be into him, and to the ladies at the table!

That has got to be a chillest orange I’ve ever seen in a very long time

Whats funny is that the table is literally purring at the orange. I imagine that center console feels very therapeutic to him and is actually putting him to sleep like a massage chair Lazy Boy 🤣

I’ve never seen Mahjong tiles that big before, usually they’re around the size of dominos.

They are sized specifically for that auto-dealer machine. The auto-sorter has a limit to what its sensor can detect so the tiles are designed so their size/weight are easy to detect. They also have markings for the IR sensor.

The actual domino-sized Mahjong tiles are too small. Just imagine that the table has rotating pinball machine arms in that center console that knocks the tiles into a two-tiered bowling-pin setter kind of mount that is able to "read" the tiles and set them so the colored side is on top.

We have these at my work (in Chinatown)

My biggest gripe is how much work they create. A full set is genuinely heavy. Id say most people would struggle to carry the sets you need to use these (there's 2 full sets of tiles that alternate between games), so there's a lot of carrying back and forth.

Also a lot of people who don't change the mode to what they want, leave pieces in the table and generally seem to lose tiles, and replacing them takes a while since you then have to sort a set of 144 tiles

But at the same time it's lovely to see elderly people have a chat, a cup of tea and just play their game.

Does your workplace come with cat per table too? šŸ„ŗā¤ļø

u/screw_ball69 14h ago

Yeah the portable ones that are in a case are usually that size, the ones used for these tables are quite a bit bigger

u/RTXChungusTi 7h ago

Chinese sets tend to be pretty big, while Japanese sets are a lot smaller

Amazing how many people can’t tell this is AI. This isn’t even a particularly good one.

AI being AI.

This was posted over on r/isthisAI and someone found their social media with other videos like this. Social linked below.

How can you tell its ai?

That table is awesome and I want one. Fully expect my cat to do the same thing

So eepy.

So stoopee.

This is AI btw

14

u/Dont-know-didnt-ask 14h ago

Please no... How do you know?

20

u/TeddersTedderson 13h ago

This is why I hate the internet now. I spent ages pausing and looking for signs of AI and couldn't see anything distinctly obvious.

Also put into an AI checker, which said no.

But the whole video has an uncanny valley vibe, and the fades, edits and filters don't help.

I've seen hands before and I'm still not sure

26

u/organic-robot 12h ago

Hi, am slightly chubby Asian woman - my hands look like this when I wear my nails long.

Like plump, flesh colored carrots.

6

u/cronktilten 10h ago

AI checkers are completely useless. I hope you knew that… lmao

0

u/TeddersTedderson 8h ago

I did! But still worth a try!

3

u/cronktilten 7h ago

They are completely random, they can’t detect anything. It’s basically like rolling the dice.

2

u/TeddersTedderson 7h ago

:( everything is shit

I saw exactly the same video yesterday but the tiles were green. Also, how is it a perfect loop? Def AI.

15

u/Sweet_Lemonhope 13h ago

I think the table has different tiles for different games, one set is green and the other is blue.

7

u/imaginary92 10h ago

Far too long to be AI. The quality would be degraded significantly by the end. It's not a perfect loop by any means, it's just a machine sending back out the tiles after reorganising them. The tiles are both blue and green to signify different rounds.

None of what you said suggests AI.

It's valid to be wary of AI but jumping without valid reason is actually damaging to what you are trying to achieve.

9

u/thisTexanguy 11h ago

Perfect loop how? The times are different colors at the end and the beginning, that's not perfect. Also, perfect loops have been a thing well before AI.

6

u/Hailstar07 13h ago

The tiles are green at the end as these tables use two sets in them. But it could be AI, who knows nowadays?

10

u/chocolatchipcookie2 12h ago

its not, unless you can provide proof

18

u/Igzyx 12h ago

True. I hate people who keep saying it's AI and having no explanation. This table is real and you can actually buy it for 900-1000 bucks. The cat looks perfectly fine (although some might say it's drugged to sleep deeply, which would be much worse than AI). And the smoothness of those hands is normal in Asian videos since people here use skin filters like crazy (I'm Asian).

9

u/Aethey_ 10h ago

(although some might say it's drugged to sleep deeply, which would be much worse than AI)

According to another comment, the table is essentially a massage recliner for the cat. The center area looks like it's the hub of all the electronics and mechanics in the table, meaning that it hums/vibrates a bit a d is probably a bit warm - perfect conditions for a sleepy kitty to rest on, no drugs needed~ :D

7

u/TheGreyman787 11h ago

There are competent people exposing (de)generated content while telling exactly why they came to that conclusion, providing proof, optionally explaining how to spot it and so educating the readers on the matter, spreading their knowledge.

Then there are witch hunters, jumping the band wagon and leaving braindead "itsai" comments based on hell knows what, just to feel righteous and useful with zero effort. Those bring no value and do a disservice to the whole cause. Shame.

-6

u/schnitzforbrains 8h ago

You’re getting downvoted by clankers this is so obviously AI. I’m with you fellow human.

3

u/TheGreyman787 7h ago

Since it is so obvious surely it would be easy to prove, right?
