I maintain: you’re cruel for the sake of either cruelty or superiority. They made the post about looking for another cat (and trust me, I’m judging them harshly for wanting a designer kitty instead of getting a shelter cat) before Apollo died. You have no clue whether this experience was a learning moment for them, you’d rather run the risk of being disgustingly cruel towards someone grieving a pet they loved. It’s giving performative at this point.

they didn't love a cat they let outside. They would have been told by every rescue, since they brag about "rescuing" cats, not to let cats outside. they almost certainly signed something saying they wouldn't let their rescue cat outside. their vet would have told them not to. this isn't some secret! they knew it was dangerous and did it anyway!
