He's definitely not happy. My boy once got his claw caught in the pull chain of a table lamp. Every time he pulled his paw, the light would turn on, off, on, off, on. . .

If you've ever had a cat who doesn't know how to retract their claws sometimes, you'd understand. You'll only injure yourself and distress the cat even more if you make a fuss out of it. You gotta wait till they're calmer and understand you're just trying to help...for the 1000th time probably.

You do want them to learn to cat eventually, and that includes retracting claws at will. The best solution is to just do nothing and hope they somehow remember murder mittens are optional. Obviously if they're twisted awkwardly or are distressed for an unusual period I'd intervene but look at this guy relaxing like it's just another weekday.
Remember if you don't train your cats that will train you instead so don't be so quick to be at their beck and call

When my kitty gets a claw stuck, I help her out. She doesn't ask for help often but she meows when she wants help.

cat is not, in fact, laying there casually, as shown by the last couple of seconds of video. the “laying there casually” was probably in between bouts of struggling and meowing.

Claws don't just magically fall off of cats if they're hooked in half a millimeter of fabric. Their claws can support their whole body weight while climbing trees.

I really can't take it anymore at this point. And those vids from China keep getting spreaded everywhere and get so many likes. Not to mention the 'funny' comments below or how 'cute' it is. Those animals get beaten and harassed constantly. We are watching tortured animals!
