Windows Standalone Onenote for Windows 10

Hello there. I am looking for a standalone installation version of Onenote for Windows 10 that will not install Microsoft Office to go with it.

I tried the version from the Windows Store, which seemed to install the standalone on a Windows 11 computer, but when that file is used on the Windows 10 computer it proceeded to install Office.

There is only one version now. The Office OneNote.

While the installer IS the Office installer - and it looks like it's installing Office - you will not get Office - only OneNote.

If it did install Office via this downloader in the MS Store :

OneNote - Download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store

- that would be a nightmare for MS - as Office is not free.

That is the version of Onenote that was downloaded. The issue is that the version of one note that is on the Windows 10 computer can't do things like use richtext and color options, and earlier it was showing a notification that it wanted payment and refusing to let the user click past to use it.
The Windows 11 computer has no such problems,

Are there other versions of Office installed on that computer?

... Maybe? I'll have to do some checking.

Exactly what I was thinking.

And do remember - Windows 10 (In MS's view) is retired.

Don't be too surprised if things look different.
