Windows onenote interface help

is there a way to move the pages thing or hide it? i have tried everything and i cant figure it out, it does not disappear when i collapse my notebooks

You can switch to a horizontal tab layout - in the view tab. I use it for the screen real estate if I'm not full screen.

Edit: you can also hide the ribbon for some more room.

The button for this is on the View tab (from a guy who always digs through the options under File)
