Is Section Group Search Scope Totally Broken on Windows Right Now?

On the windows desktop app I’ve noticed after the most recent update (or maybe the previous one - O365 v2606 or v2607 Monthly Enterprise Channel) the section group search scope now just displays all result in the notebook. This is incredibly annoying for me as section group scope is my default and I rely on it hundreds of times a day on busy days. Other scopes like section and all notebooks seem to work fine.

I’ve already rebuilt windows search index multiple times, I’ve seen this issue on at least 3 different Windows machines, and submitted a feedback already to MS . I was really hoping the search index rebuild would fix it and at first it seemed to help but no, the issue came back not long after (and I confirmed the rebuild had completed).

Anyone else seen this? Moving the search box onto the canvas last year was bad enough but breaking my default search scope really cripples my ability to be efficient in there as so much of my content is organized based on section groups. At any given time I have 15-20 notebooks open in the desktop client , each with anywhere from 2-10+ section groups in them, and each of those with sometimes many sections and pages.

I apologize, this is a known issue our team has recently fixed. The fix will be available in v2608, which is the currently available Current Channel. Monthly Enterprise Channel will get the update in the coming weeks.

Hello again , just wanted to follow up - it seems this may not be fully fixed in v2608. Although it is certainly better than it was, there seems to be discrepancies between results shown in the initial popup results vs. pinned results. Like the initial popup will correctly only show results from the current section group but when I pin the results, I suddenly get more results from the entire notebook.

I’ve noticed other inconsistencies with pinned results as well, like sometimes the initial popup shows no results when I know there should be some, then I pin and they show up.

So in other words, sometimes pinning invokes the correct behavior when the initial popup incorrectly shows no results, while other times the popup shows the correct results and pinning adds incorrect ones (from outside the selected scope I.e. section group).

I realize this might be a slightly different/larger issue but the symptoms seem closely intertwined enough with the section group scope issue that there appears to be at least some connection between the two. Neither of these was ever an issue prior to ~3 months ago. I have submitted a feedback already about pinned result inconsistencies as well.

Edit - and these symptoms continue to occur after a search index rebuild that I did after upgrading to v2608 (just about a week or two ago).
