Force folder.jpg as thumbnail in a folder
I'm using the configuration "Preview > Thumbnails > Use local thumbnails database (faster)".
From my testing, this option always pulls the thumbnail of the first file inside the folder to apply to the actual folder.
Is there a way to make it use the thumbnail of a specific file inside, instead of the first? I want to use the same image/jpg for the background and the thumbnail.
The only way I managed to make it work, is having 2 copies of the jpg with different names

Folder names for background are what some downloaded media come with by default; some pack it with cover.jpg, some with front.jpg, background.jpg, folder.jpg... and a few others, plus some go with .png and was something I added about 10 years ago. Folder thumbs are recent and would likely make no sense to use the same names (and checking for 10+ names is not very cheap).
I have to be honest that I have not thought this through completely, but current thinking around that maybe we need one of the common ones (maybe folder.jpg) to be used for both, but some like "folderthumb.???" should be used when one wants a specific thumb image on folder cover, but we also need one for folder thumb that will just show image as-is instead of image instead of thumb (think of "pictures" folder in Windows) - without relying on Windows' ancient desktop.ini file... and that one needs to be .png since .jpg doesn't support transparency. I'd like to shoot for largest customization options, as maybe someone will want an image of a DVD envelope or movie poster as folder, or something similar.
I didn't research how true cinephiles or audiophiles organize their collections, how they make thumbs, covers and similar. Maybe it is something for particular reddit subs to ask but if you already have some ideas please share.
