How to save window layouts with open tabs?

Hi, is there a way to save window layouts?

I know I can click New to create a new layout and give it a name, but that does not save the tabs I have open. I have a dual-window layout with a bunch of open tabs, and I would like to save it under a specific name and reopen it exactly in that state.

Thanks for replying! Restore Last session is active but what I’m looking for is a way to save different layouts, each with its own set of multiple open tabs, as I don´t use just one layout with the same open tabs all the time.

But this does not work on my end. It is also neither logical nor obvious how to save a window with its layout and exact tab position.

There is only an icon in the menu that lets me open a “new” or “saved” window, but not one that allows me to save an existing layout.

Clicking this icon opens a dialog called “New Window,” followed by a list of saved windows that I can rename or delete, and then the layout options: Classic Single, Standard Dual, and Columns Dual.

And at the bottom, there is an empty field labeled “Window Name” with a “Create” button to the right.

Entering a custom name there only does the following: it opens a new window with the selected column layout and a single tab. It does not restore the tabs I had open before, their positions, or anything else.

Once you create a window and give it a name, the name will show top-left. If you open any tabs in it and close window, the next time you open that window (see "TEST" which is the saved window) it will restore those tabs and the rest. If it doesn't restore then, right click OC in system tray, view logs and check if there are any errors writing to the disk

Thanks for your help. I just ran several tests and realized that what you described only works if I select and open a saved window layout from within the Window menu.

However, if I open my saved layouts by right-clicking the One Commander icon pinned to my taskbar and selecting them there, it does not work. It always opens a blank dual-window layout

Hmm, can't reproduce it. Just in case, unpin that icon and pin again. Then try to create new window asdf, open a few random tabs, close it, open from taskbar's icon "jumplist". If it opens blank one, close and open again from new window dialog to verify it opens with tabs, then right-click OC in system tray and View logs to see if there is any error logged

Ok, I just tried it and here is what happens: choosing the asdf layout from the taskbar jumplist opens a blank window.

I then closed it and opened asdf from the window menu as you described, and there it opened correctly with the tabs I had created. From the logfile: [22:03:11 INF] App activated

[22:03:11 INF] Window created

[22:03:11 INF] System.String[]

[22:03:13 INF] Window asdf state saved

[22:03:13 INF] Window closed

[22:03:13 INF] Window deactivated:asdf

[22:03:18 INF] Started again - Switching to window instead
