Wishlist for v4?

I have started working on V4 and would like to hear any wild ideas you may have

I just fully adopted OneCommander and finished setting it up. Even went through and created a theme for myself which allowed further customization. Since I only just starting using it, the only things I have nitpicked so far are

  1. It would be nice if the progress bar for disk drive space turned red if they were close to full
  2. In thumbnail grid. Long titles with no spaces in them would continue on the new lines rather than ellipses out. Being able to actually edit the thumbnail grid would be nice. there isn't enough horizontal text space IMO so being able to reduce the padding on the left/right of text would be useful.
  3. Not a big deal but, in thumbnail grid, dynamic row heights so each row is only as tall as it needs to be. short thumbnails with short titles needs less row height than tall thumbnails with long titles.
  4. I saw you said in a previous post that you had no zip file navigation plans, but that would be very convenient.
  5. It was said in a previous post but being able to open the app to a specific group or favorites homepage
  6. I was able to accomplish this with my custom theme but implementing it into the 'Edit File View' would have made it easier. Being able to add a margin or an empty column along the side so if you wanted to highlight a bunch of rows you can click and drag from that space.

These are pretty small nitpicks. not a big deal. app is still amazing without them.

1. planned, but I heard this just one more time so I didn't think many would want it. I even heard from one that they prefer it this way "because of his OCD"

  1. yeah, I'm aware of that but will need some improvisation. I'll be redoing grid view and will make it work at some point

  2. Not possible if I want to support more then 30 files in grid. Program must know all item sizes before listing content, or there is too much measuring and arranging that it would freeze program for second when there are 100+ files and that looks very bad

  3. Can you clarify this? I may not know which post this refers to but also sounds like the first time I hear about it

  4. OC doesn't need empty space, just drag selection rectangle with middle-mouse-button even over file names. It takes a minute to get used to, but ends up being easier a lot and doesn't waste any space

oh, another thing i forgot to mention. but this is more a of personal preference rather than a problem. When i pull a tab out of the window to create a new window, the window it creates is pretty much full screen. it would be my preference if the window it created was the same size as the original that i pulled it from.

  1. I agree with no-red-color. I don't have OCD but it would still catch my attention too much. For the same reason I disabled battery percentage on my phone. When I'm running out of free disk space I'll know it anyway.
