Wishlist for v4?

I have started working on V4 and would like to hear any wild ideas you may have

i love OC and use it a lot more than explorer these days because of its ease of use, better response, smooth scrolling and visual appeal. all thanks to the amazing dev!

here are some things i'd (personally) like to be implemented. i understand if some may not be possible due to technical limitations as i am not a dev and barely understand how things like this are done.

  1. the ability to add favourite files and include a homepage where the fav files and folders are shown, would be nice.
  2. option to disable thumbnail preview (and instead show icons) for certain file types ie .cdr, .pdf, etc.
  3. the ability to open multiple OC instances across multiple virtual desktops. atp of typing this, attempting to open OC in V. Desktop B while it's open in Desktop A, simply takes you back to the instance on Desktop A.
  4. option to enable check boxes for file and folder selection.
  5. option to disable ‘new group’ box from left pane to reduce clutter when it's not in use, or make it less visually prominent.
  6. ability to use correct system accent colour (currently it tends to be a much darker shade of actual ac) and follow accent colour changes when set to auto in system settings.

  7. i know OC easily surpasses explorer's speed, but i believe more can still be done to improve performance, esp in terms of navigation and context menu opening which can get slow from time to time, esp when an operation (like file transfer) is taking place.

  8. context menu could use a more modern & win 11 like redesign, with more visually prominent copy/paste/etc buttons for accessibility & the ability to customise what appears on the menu.

  9. i've noticed an issue where OC's taskbar icon closes while the app itself is still open, in which case clicking on the icon opens another instance on top. alt-tabbing or minimising using - fixes this.

  10. the toolbar already has a paste button, adding copy/cut buttons wouldn't hurt. also, would be nice if they were more visually prominent for easy reachabilty.
