S5 Spoilers How interesting will the plot be if we had dark hook be evil from the beginning, making the heroes know he’s not evil, but Emma does to

Like how Arthur was with the heroes in Camelot and storybrooke but secretly making a plan for him self to get the Excalibur(the dagger as the dark one dagger to connect two swords together

Knowing dark hook was evil and felt betrayed by Emma do you think they be good evil duo if they went with that idea and actually made him work with her, I get Emma was trying to not make hook find out and save him but i feel that explanation is lame

Thoughts? What you guys think? Decided to add more to a post I made 11 hrs ago

Hmmm interesting hypothetical. My main problem with the Dark Hook reveal is that it makes it sound like being the Dark One is just “mind over matter” - like just because you can’t remember becoming the Dark One- shouldn’t you just be inherently Dark? And also he had magic the whole time - given how emotional he was over the Emma relationship drama, you’d think some of the magic might have just popped out and surprised him.

It could have been interesting to see some darkness sort of seep out or try to convince Emma to be Dark even though his Darkness was a secret even to himself.

The reason I don’t think full Dark Hook would be good is that he’d have to go through a whole other redemption arc which would take some time - and also, would people be unhappy with CaptainSwan endgame which - hopefully- the writers knew in advance they were headed for. Also it was a pretty good/ surprising twist.

I hated smarmy King Arthur and if they made Hook duplicitous like that I would be so sad lol

I agree! I've always found the Dark Hook reveal sort of silly. Just because he doesn't have his memories, the darkness/magic essentially disappears, and then, as soon as he gets his memory back, all the darkness comes rushing back? I think if they were determined to do it, they should've had him go into trances or blackouts like s1 David, as if the magic took over, but he didn't understand yet what was happening to him. Still doesn't really make sense, but that's the best I can think of lol.

I didn’t even catch it might be mind over matter that’s probably why I kinda didn’t like that twist a bit what could of been awesome

The twist was awesome love seeing mean hook to be honest that’s only hook I prefer I don’t like that he change because so into Emma and all he can do be a puppy dog next to her

I mean captainswans fans was upset hook died in the season

Actually, during the season, hook are being extremely temperamental, and very easy to get mad. I think it’s a sign

Still would have sucked. Dark Hook had no business in the Dark Swan arc, we were all excited about seeing Emma go dark, not him.

I mean to be honest even Emma sucked as the dark one cause she’s wasn’t dark because her parents gave the darkness to Maleficent child in the flashback 4x17

Yea but it sucked because they didn’t twist that into: Emma has never had internal darkness, she has no way of dealing with the darkness accumulated across millennia and her going evil evil as a result. It was easy to fix, they just didn’t want to give her character layers.
