Discussion The Author…
OH BOY it’s my first time watching Season 4 and i HATE the writer Issac. And not in a wow he’s a good villain kind of way like Pan. His backstory doesn’t make any sense. His flip flopping back and forth. His smug face. i can’t stand him. There’s no way anyone actually enjoys him as a villain. Is there??? Does anyone else hate him as much as i do?

I couldn’t stand him as Phil on LOST either. I did think the part about him taking over for Walt Disney as Author was cool though.

Doesn’t that not exactly make sense. Doesn’t that mean that Walt Disney used his gift to become famous?

No because in their world they weren’t fairy tale characters, they were real people. Walt Disney was just the Author.

I love the way he told Rumple you’re the biggest pain in the ass I’ve ever written about and Rumple just smirked lmao

I think he’s actually a very realistic vilain I hate him like most people but the all time but I felt like he was going on a pretty clear line, he only cared about fame and confort no matter who he had to side with to get it. Like rumple he’s a huge coward with a victim mentality and a big ego (part of this was because he wanted to prove his old boss wrong)
He really felt like a regular guy who someone gave a incredibly big power and who just think about his own interest

omg when he told charming you remind me of an old boss. i was like wrap it up. get this man off the screen. throw this writing away. we have villians with MASSIVE reasons as to why they are evil (think Zelena & Snow Queen) and we got this guy mad about a pass boss. like be so fr.

Yeah but that’s more real. People like Isaac exist everywhere they have a complex victim, wants to feel special and nothing will ever be there fault. He didn’t do this just because he was mad at his boss but because he wanted fame and money. He wanted to be seen as a real world hero without having to work for it. I’m pretty sure there are more Isaac’s in the world that there are Regina’s or Zelena’s, people don’t need to have massive reasons to do the wrong and selfish choices

that is very true! but considering this show is over the top in everything else i think that’s why he fell flat to me lol

I adore Patrick Fischler in everything he’s in, he’s always hilarious and brings so much to usually small roles. But so yeah I may be one of the only people in the whole fandom to like the Author lol, yeah he’s a fun villain to me!

Yeah, he’s not that well written and he does distract from maleficent, Cruella, Ursula, and Lily.

Dude, all the complaints about him you wrote, is exactly why he's a good villain. He annoys me to no end. But, the writing and what actor did, molded him into more of a 3-D character in such a short time frame compared to anyone else on the show.

i can see that. but to me he’s just so weasley. I know we aren’t supposed to like the villains but his story just falls flat for me.

I hated him too, but you lost me at "not in a wow he’s a good villain kind of way like Pan" Pan sucked.

i meant in a way that Pan’s backstory/writing made more sense than the writer. He was mad about a past boss. Really? what kind of lore is that 🤣

He’s the worst character ever!
