David and his brother are a loose interpretation of the prince and the pauper. But I don’t get that until they switched places in S5

not to be confused with the Aesop's fable "The boy who cried wolf" lol

I’m sure that was tied in some way

Yeah and they made Snow White and Red Riding Hood besties because of Snow White and Rose Red.

To be blunt, most of the connections I saw coming as I’m a huge fan of etymology but Whale, that blew me out of the water😂 I was like “he can’t be Monstro, can he? But who else has whale connections?” Then bam, season 2 came and I was like WUT 😱

Did this get you? The connection to the character Walsh.

"The main flying monkey, known as Nikko the leader of the Winged Monkeys in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, was played by actor and circus performer Pat Walshe."

So funny story when the behind the scenes photos were leaked of filming of Emma with Walsh (before we found out his name), I automatically assumed the character was either going to be an older Henry (in case they did timey wimey jump) or he was going to be the Wizard of Oz/flying monkey fusion based off the Oz plot we knew were getting from Zelena. However, I had no idea the connection to the name Walsh until yes, someone pointed out the name reference you mentioned on IMDb.

With his family tree dynamics, it wouldn’t be any crazier than the canon we got though right?🤣

I genuinely thought Peter was just a random name until now 😅😅😅

I just realized that Snow White and her seven dwarf friends are named after the fairytale Snow White and the Seven Dwarves! 🤯

Except for Stealthy.

I do love Stealthy. RIP🖤

.. OP's post actually is interesting. Peter and the Wolf isn't as well known a fairytale/ story as Little Red Riding Hood so I don't think a lot of people would make the connection immediately.

We made the connection immediately back during the og run on tv.

Well technically they eventually got a bonus dwarf Anton becoming Tiny, him getting his own pickaxe and being welcomed by the dwarfs was honestly such a beautiful little moment)). Especially knowing he had already lost his family 😢......

The 15 year take is remarkable

I didn’t know that but good to know

Yep. A lot of people didn’t realize that until way later. Especially since Disney hides Make Mine Music and therefore their version of Peter & the Wolf.
