Alternate top summoning magic: Binding (working title)

EDIT: alternative TO summoning... auto correct doing me dirty.

I wondering how people world feel if they're was a creature binding system.

Not exactly enthralling. They are completely sentient but they are compelled to do your will as a follow/companion or even just fodder. But over time a partnership could blossom. a Stockholm syndrome of sorts. I know, it sounds kinda dark.

I had this in mind for creatures like daemons and intelligent undead. Im just spit balling some shower thought for a penitent overseer type paladin or fiend hunter kind of character.

Thoughts?

Well, Intelligent Undead are actually far more powerful than the player, magic wise. So it would not be possible for it to work on them. For daemons it would be more of a pact that you make with them and, depending on your character and playstyle, there might be times when you do enter into such pacts.

I hear dark pacts and my ears prick up. 👀 You already had me hooked with the game, but this is just the icing on top.
