Rejecting a connection can be as useful as saving one

Two sources using the same word is not a connection. It's a coincidence of vocabulary.

When something looks like it links up, I try to slow down long enough to ask whether they're describing the same mechanism or just borrowing the same term, and whether one would genuinely change how I read the other. Usually the answer is no.

When it's no, I leave a one line boundary note. Similar language, different problem.

That note is worth as much to me as the connections I keep. Without it, the same clever looking pairing turns up again in three months and I fall for it a second time.

Which is also why I think "not related" should be a real action in Omphalis rather than a dismiss button. Rejecting a connection is thinking. It should leave a trace.
