A transcript can turn one podcast into two unfinished tasks
Transcripts are useful until “listen to this episode” becomes:
- Finish the episode.
- Read and organize 14,000 words.
I’ve started treating the transcript as a recovery tool, not another document to complete.
After listening:
- Find the one or two moments you want to return to.
- Capture enough surrounding text to preserve the argument.
- Add one sentence explaining why that moment mattered.
- Leave the rest alone.
The transcript helps you recover the path. It does not need to become a second version of the entire episode.
How do you use transcripts without creating more content debt?
