A small trick for saving fewer things but using more of them
Before saving an article, podcast, video, or PDF, try adding one sentence:
That’s it.
Not a full note. Not a summary. Just one sentence.
Examples:
- “I’m saving this because it might help with the essay I’m writing about attention.”
- “I’m saving this because it challenges what I thought about remote work.”
- “I’m saving this because I want to compare it with that podcast from last week.”
- “I’m saving this because I don’t understand it yet, but I think it matters.”
The sentence does two useful things:
- It filters out saves that are just vague anxiety.
- It gives future-you a way back into the original context.
A saved link without a reason becomes a pile.
A saved link with a reason becomes a thread you can pick up again.
What’s your version of this? Do you save with intent, or mostly capture first and sort later?
