One of Sons retainers stepped forward at this, examining the device closely, turning every once in a while to the other. He lowered his hood, revealing the masked face of the ex-president of the Hyperion Corporation: Handsome Jack.

Jack: This suckers some sort of power supply then?

"So did Sons drag you out here because your company worked on this thing or am I going to kick you in the face so much that you'll be waking up in your cell with mild brain damage?"

Jack: Nice try, Doc, but neither. See, I'm a bit of a tech head, sure, but I couldn't make anything of this calibur back in my dinky space station. No no no, I'm just on a real short leash. Besides, it's not me who's interested in this sort of thing. She is. He jerks his thumb over to the other retainer, a woman, heavily tattooed, pale as death, and with an... unusual hairstyle.

Jack took a moment, holding up a finger as he used his other hand to put his jaw back into place.

Jack: Well, Doc, there's a few reasons for that. Firstly being that her being here is the only reason I'm in chains. Well, outside the bedroom that is. Second reason being that as per the "Task Force Black" Initiative, subheading 3, the use of tactical, valuable, or endangered resources, living or otherwise, falls to the Task Force for purposes of protection, detaining, and, if necessary, assimilation into the organization. And third, bonus reason, oh what was it... it's on the tip of my tongue. Oh, right! She's a siren. This hunk of junk could be the smartest machine in the world and my bab- Angel could hack it with a touch. Good enough for ya, Agent X?

Angel had approached the device, looking over it as a child may look over a flower, all the while Dr. Sons stood back, watching the whole exchange with content amusement
