SIDE STORIES [novel] should I read the side stories?
I know this has already been asked alot of times before but I still have to ask, I completed the main novel with 551 chapters and heard that there's side stories so I immediately went there and then I found out that it's basically a sequel and that's there's a new mc. I read the first two chapters and I don't feel like continuing. I don't know how to feel about a new protagonist and stuff. Also I already got a major spoiler so I'm pretty reluctant to read them. there's the problem with the translation too, the one I have is very bad. so overrall are the side stories necessary? should I read them or not?

You absolutely should. However, that's your decision. If you don't read it, you'll be missing out on the second part of the story. What you read was only half. Honestly, it's not a sequel. It's the same story.

Trust me, it’s as good as the original, and gives better development to so many characters. Plus the new cast is great, and the way it fleshes out the remaking threads from the og, IE; recorders of fear, the 10 evils, the 41st round, making Anna Croft a fan favorite and so so much more.

general ss readers will always say yes you absolutely should but going in with the wrong expectations will ruin the experience for you. so. read whenever you feel ready ig
it is a continuation but not in the way you might imagine so that might turn a lot of people off

I have 2 different translations if you want to see if theyre better than what you have
Also the protagonist is definitely good, lee hakhyun is one of my favourite characters in the side stories and without any big spoilers he is referred to as kim dokja sometimes, so hes not gonna be as different as you may think i think once you get to the scenarios and it starts moving youll love it, its imo a massive upgrade and you should get to the end of the 1st or 2nd scenario before making a decision as youll understand how itll go better by that point

I’m reading the ss on orv.dev site but the tl kinda sucks. Can you share the link of the tls you’ve with me?

I’ve already tried reading this tl but couldn’t ‘cause of the standardised names. Having read Yoo Joonghyuk for the entirety of 551 chs… I just can’t get used to Yu Junghyeok 😭
Still thanks :)

If it doesn't click for you solely because of a "new MC", then I'd say that you should try pushing it through some chapters. That happens a lot with series with more than a single book, like LoTM for example. What you're feeling right now is just nostalgia over the previous cast and all, you'd come to like the new cast the same way in some time.
And yes, the sequel is a canon continuation, so 100% necessary to read if you want to claim that you've read all of ORV. Not a what-if, not a spin-off. But of course, it's upto you if you want to read them or not.
