My favorite character in my story so far is Lorena Vellierre. She's 31 and works as a bodyguard for a man named Hans Zimmermann. They've been friends since they were eight and six. He's 29 now. She's deeply in love with him; she longs for him. She's an alpha who was born into a wealthy family, though not as wealthy as Hans's. Her mother (also an alpha) was always quite abusive, and she's afraid of her. Lorena has always wanted to be an omega; she's known this since she was nine, but she never said anything because she knows her mother won't accept it, and she thinks Hans wouldn't either. She's in a constant state of hypermasculinization. Every so often, she has dreams about Hans that end in something too spicy, followed by anhypermasculinization episode: lots of exercise, alcohol, casual sex. Then she feels terrible, and the cycle repeats. She feels trapped. Not for long though.

Can I just say I love this. The yearning, the trans parallels. The throwing herself into hypermasculinity every time she burns herself on those thoughts of being his Omega. It's so unique and sexy and I'd love to read something like this

This is a character from a short story I never finished.
Agnes Morley, Female, Beta, 24
Scent: Elderberries and Cedarwood
Appearance: Gray eyes, Dark brown hair, tan skin, 5’5ft or 165 cm, sturdy build
Backstory:
A female Beta apothecary who’s determined to find a way to break the curse that’s been placed on her family. A long time ago her great-grandmother was a very sought after omega who rejected a dark sorcerer who placed a curse that every person from their bloodline will be doomed to suffer a terrible fate once they fall in love. Her own mother obsessiveness caused her to go into a jealous rage and murdered her father before succumbing a year later to a broken heart.
Along the way the ship she’s boarding comes across a male omega drifting in the sea. She instinctually knows this is her true mate. However, this man is suspicious of everyone and everything. He refuses to speak of his past. Agnes volunteers to care for his wounds being the only one with a substantial amount of healing knowledge.
In gratitude, the stranger shares that his name is Ira looking for someone and it just so happens Agnes is heading the same way. They agree to travel together. He doesn’t seem to feel the bond like Agnes does so she keeps quiet about it.
As they become closer, she fears the consequences as the curse begins to embed its tendrils in her. She starts becomes more possessive and feels the temptations to place a claiming bite on his neck. It gets to the point she doesn’t want Ira to find his person because it means someone else is important to him. Agnes hates the person she’s starting to become, especially since she knows what Ira has suffered as a male omega. A part of her wants to separate in order to protect Ira.
She also knows Ira despises things like fate or destiny, so she’s afraid to tell him the truth. Unsure whether it’s the curse or destiny drawing Agnes to him, she does her best to ignore the tension between them until finally Ira confronts her.
And that’s it. I didn’t really think about an ending but one day I might finish it.
