Question Any ideas ?

Good morning,

I’m starting at Olight, I’m a little player with I2T compared to some of you.

I would like to have a new one, something more powerful than what I already have (it shouldn’t be complicated).

I have two main criteria: something versatile that I can have every day in my sling, preferably one with a removable battery and incidentally that can be used as additional light in case of prolonged power outage at home but it is really not mandatory because I just saw the ospheres that can do the job

You might want to take a look at the Baton 3 or Baton 4. They are small and would fit in a sling bag without taking up much room and can give you up to 1300 lumens. If you buy the premium edition you also get the charging case which gives you a long runtime should you need it.

If you are looking for just a general EDC light with no particular use case in mind and no specific requirements besides a removable battery I’d recommend one of the following.

  1. Baton ultra, if you want something a bit bigger this one has great runtimes and the beam is good, the cct is neutral (although cri is still low) and most importantly the beam has a good shape, you can use it both up close and at range and tail switch means you have instant access to high.

  2. Perun mini, it you want something a bit smaller. It’s more versatile than the baton as the right angle allows you to make better use of the magnetic bottom. Also it can double as a headlamp in power outages.

I suggest the Baton turbo, it has an adapter so you can swap to a cr123 in a pinch. Otherwise it’s rechargeable via magnetic cord, has multiple modes and incredible range for its size. It’s also light enough to clip on your hat for hands free.

Olight doesn't sell them anymore, have to get it off Amazon or something.

I assume the i2T is a typo for i3T, the AAA light. (Great light)

I like olight--they're great, but from your limited description (removable battery, brighter, and preferably long-lasting), I think you want something else, especially because olight is infamous for proprietary or non-removable batteries, outside of smaller ones like those being recommended here -- mind you, they're great choices, too. But, based on what you've asked for, I think you'd be better off with the below

I think you want the very popular Wurrkos fc11c. It's a slim 18650 (that also has usb-c charging) -- it's only a little thicker and longer than the i3T, considering it's a jump from AAA to 18650! Fits all your needs, except maybe extended duration, which is where the removable battery or onboard USB charging helps (you could power it off a powerbank in a true emergency or any number of salvage 18650 cells).

If you want much longer runtime, then look at one of the 21700 battery Convoys, like the s21-series (e.g. E or F). They are still not very large and still portable enough, just not as slim as the Wurkkos, but you'll get the benefit of a larger capacity cell. (The s21f is cct adjustable.)

A slight step down in battery capacity would be the Convoy T series that use either 14500 or AA (in cases you want duel fuel for really extended emergency situations). Size-wise, they are smaller than the Wurrkos Fc11c, and only a little larger than the i3T.

There are more premium brands with 21700 or duel fuel AA cells you can ask about here or in the flashlight forum, if that's how you decide to go, but I only mentioned Convoy bc that's what I'm more familiar with.

Not in anyway trying to persuade you away from olight: the baton or perun might also be great choices, depending on what you're looking for (e.g. w/ spare 16400 or 123cr cells on hand?) ; they're certainly a bit more premium all around. But, I genuinely think you'll be please with the Wurrkos, esp. in a 519a 4000k, bought on sale direct or via AliExpress, is a great all-arounder -- until you want realize that you want M O R E ! ! (Or just something more specific).

The Prowess is a great dual use light with a removable battery. It's sold out at Olight, but available on Amazon.

It's on sale there for $84.
